Do you think the new upgrade will still change the Orange icons etc, or do you think the networks stopped the upgrading, so they had time to get their sticky fingers over it?

Orange has asked SE to stop the update until the firmware has been approved. I am aware that there is a new firmware out again within the next few weeks. I have been informed that If you update the phone the icons will revert back to the Orange icons, however i cant be 100% certain of this. I hope it doesnt, but I cant see whay they would want to revert to SE.
Thanks |

Also what is the "hold c" procedure for? the firmware update itself or the USB drivers for the k750?
Thanks |
| The hold 'c' is for both parts. I believe holding the 'c' is a way to start the phone without turning it on so the computer can recognize it and then you can 1) update the computer's flash drive 2) update the phones firmware.

When I use to update the k700i it would check to see if you had the latest fw and told you so and went no further.
The k750i updater just lets you keep updating ???

I have posted a copy of the eu_4 customization with my firmware. It uses the same main firmware file as the eu_3. So you don't have to find my original post however many pages ago, its at http://www.tc.umn.edu/~canf0015/se_firmware/
I haven't tried swapping out my eu_3 for eu_4 yet because I don't want to deal with recovering my phone if it screws up because I don't have a backup. Let me know if it works and how you did it because I really want to use eu_4! |

Ive been reading this thread for a few days now infact since i updated the FW on my phone so im up to date but yea i can imagine for someone just coming in this thread its hard to catch up. This is the first and after this FW fiasco possiby the last SE phone i shall own imo SE should never have released this FW it looks like it was thrown to-gether quickly to cure some of the bugs but has introduced the GPRS connection bug. I just hope they get it sorted some time soon |

this is also my first SE phone and although it offers so much more compared to my old nokia 6230... my old 6230 never had a single problem!!!

| It does check just like it did for your k700 and won't continue with the update if you are up-to-date. The issue for people is that they won't know when they should try and update (without reading a forum like this) b/c SE doesn't seem to post info about a new firmware in a place people can regularly check.

Another change that i noticed in the new firmware is that the signal strength meter has been updated. It now also changes colour instead of just changing the number of bars. |

Hi, as a new member I've tried to follow this thread from beginning to end. I've got a vodafone branded k750i and SEUS said there was no update for my operator currently available. Am I right in thinking that once the new firmware is released it will be possible to update the vodafone version with SEUS, and it's only temporarily disabled ? |
