i wish they kept everything a secret this well AND started a production run already so they could announce and release to sell same day or a week or two later.
just do metal detectors and full body searches on everyone coming and going. no phones, no cameras, nothing. make everyone strip down to their underwear like they're processing cocaine.

10/10+/L3 were available right after MWC.
Like someone said here, they do mass production after event to prevent leaks.
Tons of people to "control".
Employees, supliers, certification agency, stores, carriers etc ...

10/10+/L3 are midrange junk phones.
flagship should be released same day or shortly after announcement.
and yea there are tons of people to control, but they can do it. even if something does leak, is that worse than killing the hype and letting people forget about the phone while they start production and HOPEFULLY meet the release date they set for themselves?

I agree, said it thousand times. Leaks are better than killing the hype. When they announce and don't release, anything regarding that phone until release doesn't make it to tech sites but if it was a leak it makes the headlines. Not to mention the discounts other phones get until Xperia comes along. It is a lose lose. If they are not gonna release shortly they should not announce it.

L is low end. L3 is cute.
There is rumors of a phone simpler than L series.
Compare to Asus Live series.
Maybe E6, who knows ....

They need 💰 from poor people too.
And those old people that just use phone for calls and whatsapp.
Low end is enough to them.
Motorola says the demand for Razr is higher than expected.
Now they have to delay a little.
This is the only type of flex phone useful.
Samsung and Huawei wasted money and time.

Hi All,
is there any chance to see something like super macro mode in Xperia next year ?

^ i don't know for sure, but I highly doubt it.
a macro lens takes up space is truly a 1 trick pony. it wouldn't be practical to include it.

6 camera phone is rumored to have f/1.2. Would be handy in macro photography. They need to lower the minimum focus distance though. This might mean more complex lens design etc.
Dedicated cam of Xiaomi note 10 is 1/5" ~3.5mm diagonal. So tiny, I don't think space would be much of a problem. The haptic motor space could fit like 4 of these.

he's talking about super macro.
the macro that exists now is like 5cm focal length. that's nothing.

Other are using macro 2MP.
Crappy photos.
End up useless quality.
I give 🍪🍪🍪 in exachange for 1 photo of each device.

Considering the objects will always be close and lit well enough because fov will be so narrow, 2mp is not so bad. It has 1.75um pixels. I'd say results would be usable.
It's not much about quality but doing what main camera can't or is limited at. It wouldn't hurt to put a tiny sensor for this. But If there's a 1/1.7" f/1.2 sensor with low enough min distance and natural bokeh no one would use it.
