Should I do a manufacture reset on my phone?
Ever since I updated to Nougat, the phone has been draining faster and sometimes it gets hotter and drains the battery even faster. On top of that I have some random lag as well.
Anyone experiencing something similar?

Sounds like your only option. That's the first thing Sony support would tell you to do, master reset.

mckinley - i had random lags as well. i did a simple restart and not a factory reset and that fixed it for me. i haven't had any excessive battery drain or the phone getting hot though. when in doubt, factory reset or a fresh install usually does the trick.
i'm just curious if anybody else experiences a slight delay for the screen to turn on when pushing the power button. i can't remember exactly if this has always been the case, but i feel like there is a good half second sometimes before the screen turns on after pushing it. This has nothing to do with unlocking either. Just simply turning on the screen to view the lock screen.

I've had ONCE the day where it was draining the battery.
It was when the phone discharged to 0% and turned off...
Facebook was draining.
Reboot helped. Now it's perfect.

@doministry it wasn't just you my friend, most if not all Android devices were affect by a server update to Facebook and its messenger app too.
Silent Facebook server update bring battery woes

I wonder how much faster or slower the other QC 3.0 compatible devices are compared to the Xperia XZ sloooow charging time.
Earlier today, I bought Huawei Mate 9 to my girlfriend and that Supercharge charging is blazing fast.

My issue with FB drain was a one day issue.
I rebooted the phone, forced FB to close and cleaned the cache.
Now it's fine.

so i was able to get from 2% battery to 100% battery in about 1 hour and 26 minutes with minimal use (texting, messaging).
that's with an AUKEY QC 3.0 charger.

Not quite XZ news but because the hardware is very similar the result would be the same I guess.

Sony really make top of it game this year in category of device update to new software
XZ now has VoLTE with one major operator in my country, hopefully expand to all three of them in 2017
maybe VoWifi also would be very appreciated.

Just got mine yesterday from BestBuy. Great phone, love the design. Unfortunately, mine came with a spec of dust behind the front facing camera. Really disappointed since this phone is advertised as water and dust resistant. |
