@razec,

You mention the flash sync as a problem in the current K850i firmware. Please note that most of the photos in the blind test are out door shots.
And I have a feeling that the lower amount of noise is more preferred by the people that have voted.

Yeah i know that but Sorry because i am talking about the N82's first look and Holiday review in GSMarena where they said K850 has weaker flash than N82 - such a ridiculous comment from a respected site without proper thinking of what issues affecting K850's imaging quality atm

How will firmware improve flash? And why wait for a firmware? There will be firmware updates throughout the next year for K850, are you saying they should wait 2 years for the device to so call 'stabilise'? They did the test in first week of december and at that time there was no firmware update for K850.

most camera improvements come in the first firmware update, presumably because SE takes some note of user comments once they are widely available.

so I think it sounds fair that comparison between a mature product like N95 and a new product like K850 should be done after the first firmware update

to the best of my knowledge, K850 has been out for months and N82 isnt even out yet. so who needs time to mature here? N82 or K850

agreed that K850 has been out a while but we've had no major update and remember that this is SE's first 5MP phone so previous drivers for K850 would only be a starting point for K850

N82 firmware is surely based on the mature N95 firmware. I'm sure they did not rewrite the code for N82?

well, N82 is the first with xenon flash so Nokia also start at zero too.

but to be fair, let's give SE the opportunity fix the firmware.

lol, I knew when I posted that someone would bring up the flash

nah, they surely would have taken the existing driver and added the code for the flash... no need to rewrite, especially if its so good!

you see I am being polite. Actually I could say "SE has done flash in K800/K810 before and it is incompetent for SE to get it so wrong the second time around".

There you go another bias statement that is going to flame up

Granted LED is not strong for long distance darkness. But how about near distance dark or daylight pics?

You can't conpare phones when firmware is still maturing. The design can be spoke about but why try to compare something when they just about come out in stores.

When is the firmware mature? When it is considered bug free (and if so by whom?) or when the product has reached "End of Life"?

Could it not be argued that SE rushed the K850i with immature firmware? The benefit of a review such as GSMArena's is to see what you get if you buy the product NOW. And I think the majority of K850i owners wouldn't have a clue about SEUS.
