Good Friday it's all over the places. But in US, most of the business do not close for Good Friday. Europe, its a different story. |

I've been making the best of my Orange (UK) p990 - patiently waiting for a firmware update.... and waiting.... I'm bored with pressing C, humouring SEUS and being told no updates available. SEUS is OK, but I do find it a little 'last century' with regard to how it doesn't let you know about updates unless you have the phone connected and in its special 'update' mode.
I am amazed that the supposedly 'flagship' phone (or at least it was when I bought it!) is so poorly supported by Orange. I am reluctant to debrand because I find the Orange synchronisation with its webaite (Contacts and Calendar - via Outlook on a PC currently) useful - but even this was only meant to be a stopgap until full phone to web synchronisation was set up. The p990 isn't even listed yet with settings to do this directly. Giving Orange the benefit of the doubt, I consoled myself with the thought that Orange are trying to get their Firmware update right - as the current one is not bad - just limited and slow with the original bugs. Has anyone any news on when Orange UK may be releasing an update - they seem to know nothing in my local shop and, Orange seem to be of little help over the phone - all they say is keep using SEUS! I'd be glad of any news. Thanks.

Probaby means that there wont be an update until Tuesday either then. Easter Monday is a holiday as well in most places is it not? Unless SE decides to release it over the weekend itself, which seems doubtful.... |

This thread makes the most sense to post to in relation to comments on R5A16 b/c its been followed since February and it avoids mutiple threads, some of which I see are closed, but....isn't there someway for a Mod to change the thread title cause it's a misnomer....in that it's referring to the present firmware and not R5? Just a thought...remove the reference to R4... |

Im starting to get a little bit angry now about this so called new f/w update. Its about TIME SE get it realest. Or can it be that it still is beta?

I'll play the optimist today
I think they are taking their time to make sure that there isn't another blunder, they must know by now that they have used all their credit and more. There will possibly be another update to SEUS as well before the fw is released.
Besides, SE never actually said (well, they never say anything!) there was going to be an update so let's keep playing the guessing game
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

I could imagine that many people are tired now of playing the guessing game and the phone and SE period.
And I am getting there too...

Just some more days guys, we already had proof the firmware is not in beta stage anymore (olbo's update)...but service centers get it always ahead of seus |

isn't it that these firmwares are programmed by SE? so why is it that service centers get it first way ahead than SE? where are they getting it from then?
no matter how wicked it is, i wont use a phone unless it's a sony ericsson! T68i>P800>P900>P910i>and ahhmm..p990i |

Over at my-symbian olbo has reported that SMP icon tap doesn't seem to work with new fw. I wonder what else has changed.
There was a minor update today to the Update service program, it starts a little different now. You actually have to select your phone model and a picture of P990 comes on our particular screen.
No fw update yet though, I still have the latest version

Why the hell do service centers get it in the first place?
They will charge money for upgrading it (if my phone is outta warranty)
What a rip-off...
