OK, here's the story. Looks like its o2's fault AGAIN! The delivery address is blatenly not mine. Not remotely close to me at all. The woman has passed my case on to someone else who will call me in 24hrs!! So here's me waiting until o2 get more k800's in stock i bet. I'm so angry! I want my £49.99 refunded. It begs the question, where is my order then?? In thin air or was probably never put through in the first place!

This is a common problem for O2 at the moment - you're the 7th person - YES 7th - I've heard this happen to, one of them my partner with a failed K750 delivery last week that ended up in Devon and we live in the Midlands! Never mind that spurred on the K800 purchase but I feel for you.
How tight is the battery cover by the way! I nearly ended up in tears over it but better tight than squeeky.
So what's the gen on the included items there is some talk about the headphones being wrong and that there should be an M2 inside - any ideas?

why don't people just get it free on a contract with carphone warehouse o2? the whole year would come to £260 and you get 250 minutes and 100 texts with double everything for 6 months?!

I ordered with e2save on Thursday
Orange Canary 30
12 month contract
11 months 1/2 price (with cashback)
Free K800i
Got an email today to tell me that stock had been lacted and that it would be dispatched subject to a credit check.
Couple of hours later I got another saying
"Due to the current UK stock levels of this product we anticipate a small delay in dispatching your order of around 7/14 days."
dont want to wait that long. Anyone know if Orange have any K800's out there or is this generally that Orange are late to the party. |

Well got mine, after rearranging late afternoon delivery from dhl after I missed the first call - was almost gutted.
First impressions - substantial, looks pretty well built, possibly better than the k750i, not sure how long the joystick will last as it looks the same as the one used in the K750i. Haven't really played around with the Camera yet, that will have to wait until tommorow.
Screen is the deal breaker for me, its massive and gorgeous - i love the new smoothed fonts, although the SE themes are a bit half-baked, so im using the pre-set O2 one for the time being (Ocean Wave was my fav on the 750 - i want something like that, not all this dark stuff!).
Keypad does seem a little clicky, but thats not a big deal, might have to get used to it being a little squeezed down the bottom.
Only one gripe so far - the charger blew when i first put in in - luckily checked the SE website and the 750's charger works with the k800i. Rang O2 and they wanted me to send the whole phone back - no way! I told them i was just going to return the charger and they could replace it - I don't want the hastle of having to wait around again.
All in seems a nice improvement on the K750, if not the 'upgrade' everyone wanted. |

I plugged the charger in and it went 'pop' which i presume is the fuse - no smoke or fire thank goodness. I was pretty cross, considering i'd just taken it out of the box - thankfully i managed to charge the phone with my old k750 charger. |

I'm soo confused and dont know what to do..
I was in carphonewarehouse today and tried getting a little feel for the k800i, perhaps having a play with it... so i blagged them my brother is going to get me any phone of my choice and would like to see the k800i in person before purchase.
I went in there with the usual expectation, contract = expensive, sim free = expensive or not available and although somone has a .jpg file of a brochure spotting o2 for £250.00 payugo i didnt expect that neither.
Nevertheless i was in there playing with the phone, chattin the usual bullshit. This guy new what he was on about to an extent and i asked him about a contract.
He offered me o2 250 £35.00 18th month contract and the k800i free. No surprices there, an expensive contract.
So i asked him about it sim free and as i had been to other shops and they had turned me down, i dropped in how i'd seen it in a brochure going for £250.00 o2 paysugo.
This time too my surprice he stood in front and said '£240.00 simfree'.
My face dropped and was stunned. He then said, wait no its actually £239.95'
From there i began to speak to him, i asked him to check wherever he was gettin his data from, almost 3 times. It's official the k800i in this carphonewarehouse is going for £239.95. He was ready to sell it me today but unfortuntly i hadn't brought that much cash with me. Hopefully tommorw i shall have it.
k800i goes for £239.95 yet the w810i has the price of £279.99... as i say to an extent he knows what hes talking about as he said its proberly becasue its walkman it costs more.
Im hoping to buy the k800i from this fella and hope i pick up a bargain, as you never know, come 2 weeks down the line they may have realised theres a mistake somewhere down there. If not ill buy as many as i can and sell them on ebay.
...Many may be thinking he can't be true, as its also the same position im in right now, he might have been looking at the wrong handset but i have nothing too loose, and it will be by far the best deal anyone has come across so far.

oh yeah, thats for sure. I thought you were being very pessimistic about the number of problems the K800 would have
Since the K800 is a derivative of the K750 (and to some extent the K700) I have high hopes for the K800 being pretty stable
|
|
let's hope so the proto k790 i had was not that great in terms of stability.. random lockups, random crashes

Most prototypes have defects. the idea of the prottypes is so that they can try the software/ hardware so they can iron out the bugs.
