@rrojas, i have an old victorinox just like that except for the cork opener -- mine had a philips screw driver instead. I'll post a pic when I can.
resistance is futile.

I sympathize with you, Jack, but bear in mind that a knife in itself isn't dangerous. It's the hand that wields the knife of which you ought to be wary.

I hear you mate, it's a fact that the world in which we live has become a lethal place... Try to find a system which works for you, one whereby you're always aware of your physical environment, possible threats, etc, as well as which action to follow should there be a need to follow evasive maneuvers, etc

Those Leatherman tools are great, Brix, really useful to keep within reach. Have a look at one of the many gunshops in CT, you're bound to find one that's reasonably priced.

but as for killing someone with it? not really my cuppa tea im afraid!

That would be a monumental task! Imagine trying to confiscate every knife on the planet... Even if it could be done, people would simply resort to using other objects, like pens, toothbrushes, etc. I've seen the inside of some prisons in this country, and it's stunning how innovative prisoners can be at creating weapons out of seemingly innocuous objects.

I carry with me a Leatherman Charge Multitool and I find it quite useful almost everyday. From cutting open boxes to using the screwdriver and all those other daily things you tend to come accross.

As for killing people; everytime I need someone taken care of, I make use of these guys as they have sofar provided me with a superb service.

Banning knives is not the sollution. People reasoning like that live in a dreamworld. What will be next? Spoons? Stones? Ropes? Your bare hands? Rather teach your children manners, discipline and the meaning of respect.
