I own a compaq presario notebook with 1.6 ghz intel centrino tech. If you want a thrifty laptop when it comes to power saving, this is for you. It gradually reduce processing utilization when on mobile but not reduce capabilities and speed. |

I own ASUS M5A, kinda just bought it a week old.. bought the white edition, as its more futuristic look, Apple iBook look, and goes along fine with my up and coming PS3.. hehehe....
All i can say is, it has a high end spec in a small Light weight body!!

I've got a dell inspiron 9300
Pentium M 2.13 ghz
1024mb ddr2 ram
100gb hdd
Geforce 6800 go
17inch widescreen.
It's a little on the heavy side but not too heavy.
We have a small lan party every weekend so I use it there.
It rocks. Battery life is like 2 hours with wi-fi. |

Cost me about 2300$.
It's well worth it,
I just oc'ed the graphics card a bit and i'm getting 3853 points in 3dmark2005.
It's a great thing to use at lan parties, not having to lug around a huge desktop.

Got a second hand Toshiba Portege 3505 Tablet PC, 1Gb ram, 100Gb HD, 1.3Ghz PIII. Does exactly what it says on the tin...
Got a Toshiba Portege M200 too @ work. Not much difference really!
BUT - my most used PC is a FS Pocket Loox 720 PDA. Better than anything HP makes at the moment!

I have the Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook P7120. With this small and light 10.6-inch display notebook, I am really portable. I am having the add-on battery installed instead of the DVD-writer. It stays alive for over 10 hours without charging
BTW. I am photographing a lot, and used to have a Type II Compact-flash adapter permanently installed in the PCMCIA slot. Transfering 2GB of data to the PC took 35 minutes!. In addition to that, the CPU usage was over 90%. I could not work on the PC when the transfer was in progress. This was a problem when I visited CeBIT earlier this year and wanted to publish news with images fast. I have now changed the "regular" adapter with a Lexar 32-bit CardBus Adapter. The result: 5% CPU usage and 2GB transfer time is 4-four minutes.
