I also don't what it means by server busy but it can't be the case that all available connections could be in use. It is impossible that all Islamabadi's will be busy using GPRS at one time bcz this thing is not so popular among people. |

When I manually search for all available signals, all the four companies signal appears other than WARID but when I put WARID sim in my mobile and manually search than only WARID's PK-07 appears. Is thier anything special with WARID's signals. Are they different from others? This point was already raised by UMER. Anyone please tell us the difference and if this happens then how will we be able to use MNP?
The TOPIC name is very fine now. |

@bilal: once i asked the ufone ppl that whats their operating frequency. they replied with 900. mobilink also used to be on 900 but since long we are hearing that they are shifting to 1800. dont know if they have already. you can ask your telnor and warid helplines that which frequencies they use.
But still, i dont think this will affect Mobile Number POrtablity. Cuz at one time you will be have subscribed to one network. It might not be the way that you can subsribe both to mobilink and jazz with the same number at the same time. So this wont affect it, if it is the way I get it.
@comtrak: The name is now really fine.

@radarblip
I have read in news that PTA is scheduling to introduce MNP before the next year i.e at the end of the same year.
As far as operating frequencies are concerned :
Ufone PK-02 900 Mhz
Paktel PK-04 900 Mhz
Mobilink PK-02 Previously 900 Mhz now upgraded to 1800 Mhz
Telenor PK-06 900/1800 Mhz
Warid PK-07 900/1800 Mhz
Most mobile phones are dual banded i.e can operate in 900 & 1800 Mhz and most NOKIA phones can operate in triple band i.e 900,1800 & 1900.
Now,I don't know What it mean by 900/1800 written with WARID and Telenor. Are they having both the frequencies or only 1800 Mhz? |

Now, Talk something about terrif. Through calculations I came to know that WARID & TELENOR have exactly the same calculation formula.
TELENOR:
When we load a certain amount of money in TELENOR than exactly 9.1% is deducted as TAX, and remaining 15% is deducted on of the calls and SMS. For example 15% of 3.99 is .60 so total= 4.59,
15% of SMS 1.5 is .23 so, total= 1.73, in this way the total deduction is nearly equal to 27% (9.1% in the beggining and 15% on each call & SMS).Now from these calculations, we have to to Pay exactly Rs 5.06 for each call and 1.90 for each SMS. Similarly you can calculate for international calls 25.40 .These all rates are too high.
WARID:
Now talking about WARID, they are deducting whole 27% with each call and SMS instead of deducting 9.1% in beggniing and 15% GST afterwards. For example 27% of 3 is .80 so total = 3.80, and SMS 27% of 1 is .27 so 1.27 . So, you should not confuse about the terrif of WARID thats more clear, You can easily calculate all On net, Off net exact call rates of WARID by adding 27% of that Amount after each call. So the lowest call rate from Warid to Warid is 1.27 in friends and family off peak and if you talk fro half minute than 0.64 and on net SMS thats 0.64 .So, WARID rates are low than TELENOR.
From Above all discussion we come to know that the amount of TAX depends on the call rates which is set by the company.
There is a difference of 1.26 in Off net call rates of Telenor and WARID. Please don't think that I have some special relationship with WARID. Currently I myself is using TELENOR. |

Yes, Mobilink dual code system is somewhat confusing, what they want to prove by this system? I think to the people who don't know more about Mobile networks they want to show that OUR network is strong enough to support dual codes and we have many users and all pakistanis are fan of Mobilink.
The real story is that they have more coverage and many people living even in islamabad have mobilink because only they have only mobilink in thier home town. I have also the same problem but I have now rejected mobilink.
@comtrack
Mobilink has very poor sound quality whats thier use of 1800 Mhz.
Telenor and Warid has obviously 1800 Mhz because I have read that this dual band results in better sound quality and fast data transfer over GPRS networks.In that site http://www.gsmworld.com/ Mobilink 900 and 1800 are defined saperately.
I want you all to visit the site http://www.gsmworld.com/ thats very informative for GSM networks Moreover it also provides the complete information of each GSM network across the world. From thier I came to know that India has 60 GSM mobile networks thats why competition is very tough, we have only 5 operators, They all running thier own monoply what will we benefit from them? I have also read that Telenor is also intrested in india than their they will be able to run when they provide Rs. 1/min . We are being looted by all operators.

Hi. Have already discussesed about the network search problem with warid. Now when network is detected and signal is ok. Then if we go to some place where signal is lost. Say some close place like operation theatre or some basement and then come out again. Then warid do not pick the signal again. When you take the set in your hand again for making some call or using gprs or for what ever then you come to know that you have no signal. Then you have to dial the 321 again some times more than one times to pick the signal again. I am sick of this thing.
