@xpx
why are you mentioning features of the N90? the focus of the discussion has been the N91 mostly.
anyway, i'm not even that faithful to brands and have owned SE, nokia, motorola, but somehow i'm not convinced that the N91 is worth the price yet. maybe when i see it in person i'll know?

Numnums, the quality of software is lotsa better. Can you find say avi player, irda remote, blacklist for calls or microsoft office documents redactors... Could you see that and more for say k750?

maybe my problem is that i have a Palm that plays .avi (and is a remote for my TVs and stereos) and a small laptop that does all the MS office programs.. so i guess i'm not the target buyer for these sym phones! or maybe i am getting tighter with my money. |

personally i think this is good that se has die hard fans, this regulates business IMO... had it been that nokia didn't figure that there is a growing seed in the block then they might have not incorporated the 3 N phones, hey!!! let's all go to nokia, let's see if SE would be alarmed! who knows, they might slap in 5 mpix cam with 10gig HDD.. btw i still think n91 as for me would make the all-in-one gadget, just don't drop it... symbian? well, with symbian, i'd get to have IR remote control, .sis and even .jar games, do multi tasking which the SE fone can only minimize in radio and mp3s, have more hidden folders (for my porn of couse), install image editors, movie director, and cool ngage games (well not so cool but hell better than my s700's 3d capsule and java games), then i'd also get a radio, plus there's a built in 3.5mm jack (so i'll not make a DIY adapter myself)... btw, i dont mean to offend SE fans but, in their menus, i'd have to press that >*<<*<* key and press more keys just so i can turn my flashlight on, whereas in nokia, 3200 to be exact, i'd just have to press one key for 5 sec and the light autmoatically activates... if only SE would release a new fone for now, then i might change my mine, the only thing that hinders my mind is that, n91 is procey and very very sensitive.. |

@davo: Char? CHARMANDA!!!!!!!!!! Char char!
(cough)
Personally as has been said a few times throughout this thread, the comparison of the 2 models is a little stupid.
Specially since one is in the 3G catagory and the other isn't. Specs alone set them into far different catagories.
For me? W800i, why? Die hard Fan, unashamedly yes, but its a few more things. I can't STAND the look of the N91, I've also had the opportunity to see a K750i and damn its a small light beast. All i want is a small phone, to make calls on, listen to the radio, and play mp3s on. So far I use my k700i for that, the W800i has a few more interesting choices though for me so its what I'd like.
The connection options are fine for me, I don't need any more out of it than BT or at a pinch IR really. Wifi, Edge, 3g? Don't need them at all. Let alone edge doesn't exist here and 3G is still coming. (But thats also been discussed COUNTLESS TIMES in nuemerous threads here all ready so lets nto rehash that..)
I think both models are going to be a personal choice thing, like communicators vs p series phones. Some people like one or the other.
As much as I am a gadget person, I don't need my phone to have a full blown OS on it.. As far as I see it, phones are smartphones in regards that I can add java applications if there is something I really want - messenger for instance. But it does all i need from the phone.
I do expect someone will release something bigger and better than both the above mentioned phones though, simply because by announcing them it allows the competition to 1 upsmanship them both.

Long time lurker here.
To date all my phones save one have been nokias. I'm the kind of person that hates carrying unnecessary junk, both the K750i and N-series solve this problem. 2MP camera, radio, mp3 player, expandable memory (when I tire of the radio) all in one, ideal for a night out.
For me it is the form factor that has made up my mind in getting a K750i. The K750i is significantly lighter than the N-series (N91) and smaller volume wise. I'd rather not have a brick in my pocket. At the moment I use 2 phones, a N 8310 and 3650. The size of the 3650 put me off large, heavier phones. The novelty of s60 wore off pretty quickly, mostly I use the 8310 because it's light and small. Re: 3G (no EDGE here), by the time 3G truly takes off here there'll be a new slimline model available. Mobile phone OSs are too limited for me at this point in time, that's what my wireless laptop is for.
In my mind the only phone the K750i can be compared to accurately is the 6230i, essentially both have the same features, with the K750i having the better ones. |

I have MOtorola, Nokia, Samsung, and SE....
For the past few yrs I keep on changing hp every 2 mths for different hp type. But ever since I bought SE, I just fell in love with it. Its practical, easy to use, and not that expensive. Sometime, I did feel like wanna buy other brand than SE, but SE always come-up with more and better hp.
The truth about SE hp (now I'm using K750i) is that:
- Robust, not that beautiful, or that animated, but much BETTER functional
- Always have bug but you can update the software easily.
- They have excelent support team
K750i can't be compare with any other phone, because its just normal phone. The high-end phone of SE is P910 etc...or 3G z1010... I'm not going to say that K750i is the best phone, but it is the best among its level.
Conclusion:
-Motorola, h/w ok but s/w not that practical.
-Nokia, they always jump-up with latest technology, but provide low quality of h/w and s/w... but I like the animation menu ... lol
-Samsung is in between.... and that best either.
-SE, ALWAYS come-up with the (not that new, not that old) technology that already PROVEN to be working, therefore they always provide the best quality of h/w and s/w....
Therefore.... I prefer SE, no matter what series. If you have ALOT of money, then buy the high-end phone. Because in some extend they are much better. But my best phone for 2005, so far is K750i, its not expensive and have everything in it. <- except 3G...

I also faced a similiar problem . I have a k700i and wanted something better. I was really interested in the k750 but now that i have seen the 6630 and 6680 nokia phones i think i'll go in for one of them. I think se have a lot of catching up to do but i still love se.
