I rather like the Series 60 Nokias too, I'm currently using an N-Gage, imo a very underrated phone (the rather daft and uncomfortable 'side talking' malarkey aside! ).
I can't say I 'hate' or even dislike Nokia - I've had plenty of Nokia mobiles, and liked them, although generally do still have the edge.

i think s60 is outdated in nokias because they have used it in too many of thier phones, they need to bring out some new software for their phones

For me Nokia is like buying a Ford, Opel, Toyota, Skoda, nothing wrong but not that exiting either. SonyEricsson is more premium to me, like a Bmw, Saab, Audi, Lexus, not always better but image and attention to detail is superior!

The one user hit the mark perfectly. Nokia's are for the common man. Many to most Nokia users that I know, hardly use all of the functionality of their phones while an SE user clamors for even more features. My wife has a Nokia 6600 and hardly does anything more than call with it. Photos? Ha, never uses it. BT or GPRS, or email? Never. She says that Nokia have Swedish logic thus making them hard to use. This may have been true of the older Ericsson phones. I showed her that I could get into the email, or SMS or BT menu with only one button click. She was a bit amazed that her Nokia could not perform quite as fast. My wife is Finnish by the way.

Swedish logic, what is wrong with that, grrrrrrrrrrrr
But ok, somethimes we try so hard to be logical, that the result becomes the opposite, is that logical??

You know the deal. Finland vs. Sweden. Very few people do not know that Ericsson was only a few months away from owning Nokia out right. There was almost no such thing as Nokia mobile phones.

I agree with you, in my country the user of Nokia is common people (man/woman), while some of higher class use SE or Samsung.
Nokia users always "complaining" that other manufacturers have difficult menu structure (not user friendly) but they're wrong. I've tried S60 menu and it sucks, UIQ is better than S60. Non smartphone SE has better and more user friendly than Nokia S40 or lower.
The easist (most user friendly) menu of Nokia is back to grey scale period such as 8210/8250...
I dont hate Nokia, I just dont like it and dont wanna have it...

@Rafiq,
Salaams. In my opinion, I will always have a soft spot for my old Nokia 2110. This is the phone that actually put them on the map. Nokia only planned to sell about 50K of these things and in the end, they sold more than 500K. If you think about it, you can parallel the story of Nokia to Microsoft, except Nokia does invent things and did not get where it was by stealing almost ever

Nokia greyscale models are still selling like anything here in India. Here, most people doesn't bother about data services, memory, screen and stuff. A simple easy to use, cheap phone which is reliable. And i have to say, nokia has tapped this low end market brilliantly.

This is old news. We have discussed this before. SE is not really concerned about the low end market. Nokia and others are already there. Why waste money and margin on a market that is already saturated. In the other markets, such as Dubai, Kuwait, German, the UK, you see the segmentation. SE is considered a higher end phone.
