I don't think SE will stop producing the T610/T630 just yet as they are just about to take on the South American market with it. Whether SE bring out another T*** is another matter.

All the recent T models have been good mid-range handsets with wap access and picture messaging.

Maybe SE's new range of handsets will all include video recording and if the K700 is the first of these then maybe that is why SE decided to give this new range a new 'K' prefix. In other words T= no video. K= video. That is my theory anyway, probably wrong.

Has anyone been able to make sense of SE lettering prefixes?

T= Candybar + Camera
K= Candybar + Camera + Video
V= Clamshell + High speed internet access
Z + Clamshell + whatever etc
P + Palm type unit

who knows?

May be if there is a SE employee or some 'clever dick' reading this then he may be able to enlighten us. Do those letter prefixes mean anything?

Good question. T is the only what was used in /// times aswell. Maybe these model name just 'sounds good'. I like t as a model name.

:o) if se keeps to the traditions, then the models will follow nrs. T600, t610, t630 etc. Its not a must that the nrs are launched in chronological order, more the model keeps to design and less or more to features.

Wow, that would be something if the president of \ posted here.

The F500i is vodafones own styled K500i. Which means we now have K500 and K700.(is K = candybar with video?)

The V800 is vodafone's own styled version of what might become the Z800 when it is released to other networks.

As all SE's clamshell units start with Z as Z1010, Z600 and Z200 so the V800 will become the Z800. Does that make sense?

If that is true then logic dictates that Candybars will be K, Clamshells with begin with 'Z' and Palm type units will begin with 'P' and 'S' is swivel type units as in S700.

Which means of course there may be no more new T series after the T630 to be added to the portfolio as soon video may be available on even low end phones. End of an era? Who knows....I personally I don't think it is the end of the road for the T series.

Long live the T Series

The new t model should follow the traditional t series. It was a success and revolution in the good old times and even after the fusion. But maybe se has other plans.

T610/T616 and T630 are now strong on the South American market, as I told in another thread, every day you see more T610/T616 on the streets and soon T630 will be launched in Brazil and Perù, but it has already been launched in Argentina and Chile.

@boba

yeah, it was a right blast from the past when I seen the 'J' too!!. What were they, J70 and J7, first models with the Jog Dial wheel on the side for navigating through menu options. How far have mobiles come?

I prefer having the Ericsson old fone models back then . . . specially that of the T39m and T28 . . . rather than this Sony J70 one !

Thanks @goldenface, I'm sure I've never seen that, but looks very Sony to me.

I loved this little guy, it was from my dad, but I liked it very much. On that times I was on Nokia, but because of that T39 I moved to SE and got me a T200.
