After reading this review, i think that upgrading to s700 is not a wise decision..although it has got a 1.3MP camera but then has a limitation in memory (not more than 128mb ) it has got a better screen but my k700 is also not bad at all in screen quality..upgradation is always good but if u r spending so much of money for a little advancement..i dont think its a good idea. Anyways I think motorala e680 will be a better option in this case.

after reading the review i felt bengal boys are tryin to say dat the camera..iz awsome..if ppl are lookin for the camera specialy...then s700 roxx but...if u talkin abt the features k700i has it all...!!!..
well..i got a question...as u sayin the features are the same..?...
but does s700 has?
1] custoumise sms tone? ( can v keep the mp3 tone as sms tone)
2] bugs?
3] any new 3d java games in it?
4] anything new in menu?
5] symbian support?

if no symbian support...then sony ericsson has to...do something wid the upcoming new..phone..!!!..if i aint wrong..p910 dosnt has..1.3 megapixel also...?...what the hell...!!!...
only 3 se phones has symbian support p800/p900/p910
and i thought s700 would support symbian?
why arnt they lookin forward to symbian when nokia is releasing all their new phones which supports symbian but dosnt has a damn...good features..comparing to se
i havnt seen any good application of java if u compare it wid symbian....

heared abt p1000?...anybody can post the pic if u got?

S700 has disappointed me

In India itz relasing End of the year...!!! i asked the Sony Ericsson Custumer Care Service....

@ bengalboy, thanks for replying back bengalboy, But on the SE T610 you also cant switch off the shutter sound BUT you can get away from it by putting the phone on silent, then that switches off the shutter sound can you do the same thing with the S700i?

many thanks

Beside new camera options and some addition for external memory, I think he already said its same as K700 and Z1010.

For the 1000:d time. NO, its not a Symbian phone.

In an interview today in a Swedish magazine SE said they will present new cheaper symbian phones based on UIQ 3.0 during next year.

For Swedish readers.

I agree with all the people that say s700 is a dissapointement overall.
I was expecting more out of it as i was expecting out of the p910....but now im gona go ahead and buy the p910 instead of the s700. I will probably then upgrade to the p1000 once its out....does anyone have any idea when it will be out??? If it will be out soon enough then i would rather wait for the p1000 and skip the p910.
Thanks!

Yes, that and different frequences (S700i 900/1800/1900, S710a 850/1800/1900).

S700i, end of Sept or beginning of Oct. S710a, I don't know.

The shutter does go silent when the phone is put on silent...as reported by the other members.

Again....the OS and features are exactly the same as the K700i with the exception of the camera settings and video playback. (changing to full screen). FM radio, Java Games are all there....just like the K700i.

I really like the phone....don't get me wrong...the quality of materials and screen are beautiful to look at..but it is a niche phone offering nothing different than the camera, larger and better screen, and external storage. By the way....a 128mb card will hold several hundred 1.3 megapixel photos....so, thats alot of photos for someone to have available to them. I find that Mp3s encoded at 160kb that that same card hold about 22 songs....or two albums...

If you don't plan on using the camera, then buying a larger and heavier phone that it almost identical to the K700i would mean you prefer the styling and external storage ability. Video playback may very well improve with production, in which case it would make a very nice little video player with its amazing screen....
