Guys, if you can borrow a friend's P900 Syncstation or DSS-25 you may upgrade your phone's firmware on-line through Sony Ericsson's Service Site.

I have done my firmware upgrade from R2E to R2L on-line, this weekend. Just make sure you also download the necessary Syncstation drivers.
It took me approximately 40 mins to do this. |

I have an O2 version of k700i. can i go to SE service center to upgrade my firmware to R2L here in the philippines? thanks. |

got a new K700i at wellcom. O2 yung firmware nung phones nila pero i checked their display, its unbranded so i got the display. hehe.

Just wanted to ask, how much is the K700i now in Manila (gray market)? I live here in Davao City and they are selling it here for 17.5T. Is this cheap? I'm thinking of getting one. Thanks |

@orthodoc: k700i at greenhills is around 17,500. I asked for its current price while shopping for a DSS-20.
By the way, I saw a lot of DSS-20 and DSS-25 at the Greenhills stores yesterday. Price ranges from 2500 to 600. I got my DSS-20 for 600. I was able to use it right away with phone, FMA and Dateimanager on W98SE after downloading the DSS-25 drivers at the SE website. The DSS-20 that I got is a cheaper way of linking my phone with my pc than the BT dongles worth around 2000. |

Got my DSS-20 also in Greenhills for 1,000 pesos, guess you got a better deal. Although there were DSS-25's there, I liked how the DSS-20 looked with the SE button logo on top. Was able to use it to upgrade my firmware online to R2L (from my previous R2A) using my slow 33.8 Kbps dialup connection(took 3 hours  ). For other things like synchronizing my PIM, transferring files and such, I still like using my PC's BT.

the mpm is included in the PC suite which comes with the CD of your K700i. You can also download it from the SE website if you lost the CD.
@baste
I assume that you've installed the drivers and you can see the synchstation in Device manager? If so, take note of the COM port that your computer assigned to your DSS and enable that in Mobile Phone Monitor.

I don't really know what the mobile phone monitor is because I can't install the disc that came along with the K700i because it doesn't support my W98SE OS. With that, I could only use FMA which can be found at http://fma.sourceforge.net/ or Dateimanager @ http://k700.hitziger.net .
