This topic cracks me up. The PSP has NO real time playable demos yet. DS has plenty.
No real release dates yet, but PSP is 'planned' for the end of the year in Japan. Then March 05 rest of world. Take that with a large pinch of salt since it still hasn't got an eject mechanism or any REAL games yet.
The DS, is rumoured for Nov 4 in Japan and Nov 11 in US at $180. Higher than I thought, but that only makes me think the Atari bosses joke guess of $500 for the PSP is realistic.

well i don't really know much about these things but i do know that
1. this is sony's first attempt at handheld gamin and therefore they have to start somewhere and while nintendo has a long history plus you can still play gba games on it soooo it's quite logical that ds has more games at this time, plus i have seen now in quite a few magazines and recently in mobile-review.com tat psp already has some demos....
and about the eject mechanism, i think it sounds quite logical that you are kinda anti-psp considering this stament, man it doesn't have an eject mechanism so i guess sony hasn't got the money to develop one in 5 months?!? aw cmon and considering sony's huuuge support for gaming on their ps2 and with movies i don't think games will be a problem for sony so there's nothing really wrong with psp in my opinion,
i would take the psp just because of the design, i know that ds has improved it's design now but still it looks a lot more "serious" than a 10yr old gameboy... |

First off, I'm not anti Sony. I had a PS with tonnes of games and all the accesories for years.
The psp 'Demos' you speak of are nothing more than rolling videos.
Maybe they can mock up an eject mech in 5 months. Or maybe they'll just delay it, maybe they don't even have a fully working psp. The Japanese pres is even bashing it.
Just like the recent HDD, this is going to be another disappointment. Sony simply promise too much. |

now for the corrections.
Saying the DS sucks is YOUR opinion. I think it's a great little unit and will be also even BETTER once the PDA functions of it are released.
I own both, and I like both.
The PSP will not be released in March in the UK or in Europe, only in the US. It has been released in Japan since December.
They are both region free, both have wifi, and BOTH will be updated to have added functionality in the future.
The DS Kiosks (which let you download free games) are a great example of their initiative.
(sorry for replying to this thread as it's been resurrected)
