@saka -as @vlammetje would have just correctly lamented it, it totally depend on everyone's opinion here. But for me, before I made any such conclusion about the issue, I gather facts first, then make my own assumption - via my 1 million giga bytes hard disk on my brain, that is 'stock knowledge' , then make my final analysis. I guess it would just not be right, if we do not base- even, say, 1% of our opinion on national/international issues via cable on our tv sets at home. It is very unfactual if we just depend on our own mind having no external source just our own - that's what we call "BIAS"
@vlammetje - I totally disagree to call US' external spy team as - secret service. At least they have a different term for that. One of the simplest term they call for all the local/national police having a 'real time' communication is - 'interpol'.
I guess the very worst thing that can ever happen to our planet is very similar to that of the movie - The Sum Of All Fears, a novel made into flick by Tom Clancy, it starred Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman. Story of a nuclear warhead got into the hands of the terrorist - guess what happened next.
So, now that the terrorists just made a successful (not 100%, 'cause Spanish police have discovered some bags with explosives which did not detonate on the train, casualties should have been more) hit in Spain, I guess they are now relaxing taking some time out, planning their next move . . .

Don't you sometimes wonder why it's impossible for some people to accept each other as they are? And why does george bush have to do his idiot texas antics in the middle east? Wouldn't it have been less costly to work out a peace? Oh yeah i forgot-there's no money in it for him.

'making peace' is not human nature now is it?

Look at our history There has been a war going on somewhere on the planet over something non-stop

@jojo... I would think it is mildly naive to assume that the US would not have their own spying in place. Interpol is supposed to be a non-government related 'watchdog' so to speak. I think history has proven that the USA usually has it's own agenda on the side, with own means in place.

well well, an intresting tread here. i myself come from a country ravaged by terrorism and chaos. still, life goes on. from what i seen and heard i can only conclude that human attack those that has a different views from them. in some cases, they will attack those that looks diff from them. the example are: race; in may 1998 there was a chaos that the native indonesians are attacking and raping the chinese-indonesians. even amonst the native themselves, they are having dispute. i read in a newspaper (with a pic of an ambon teenager holding a human head!) when an ambon clan attacked another clan. then, the views and religions. i will not explain it as i read many examples from this tread alone. lastly, the lack of basic needs. poor atacking homes of the rich. i guess that the only day when there is true peace is when the world is about to end just like the bible state.

The win of the socialists in spain was on a sad and wdird way helped by the tragedy in madrid. Zapatero made promises to bring back the troops from iraq, if the necessary steps will ae done of the un. Can terrorism influence politic? America made a big mistake in iraq, think its time to decide what nato is heading for, the us should make war in the next future alone. We dont need a second vietnam with european cooperation.

@bobafett - Your thoughts makes sense ! But I am pro-US, but the way things progress over Iraq, I guess it will not be long that it can be cosidered an 'exercise in futility'. Similar to what you just said in US' war over in Vietnam in the 70's.
In other progressing war news, US/ Pakistan militia almost 'cornered' Osama's right-hand man in an extensive raid over Pakistan's border, but the sh*t managed to escape thru a man made tunnel (which I guess they personally made in advance then)!

The us politic is almost the same since last century. We have problems inside the country, lets make a war somewhere to force the mation focusing there. But! To protect the peace with soldiers, to keep the national attention with killing all around by fake idols. They went there to get the oil from europe and russia. Hussein isnt the reason. They thought the iraqui ppl would be thankfull, and see what happened.
