@dragon76ers
Maybe you would like to write in English here? This ain't a pinoy-only forum like the chit-chat.
Anyway, if you're not having any problems with your current FW, you don't have to upgrade to the latest firmware.
@ibaboun
Well, I initially thought that the problem had something to do with the new FW and old HW because I met someone who had problems with R4A0008 too.
But since you too are having problems with GPRS, i'm discounting my hardware problem theory. |

Guys,
who has version R4A008, can you test something for me? I'like to know whats the name of network 23001, if still it says PAEGAS CZ or it says T-MOBILE CZ, its new name of network. You can test it in preffered networks -> add -> (move cursor up) Own -> 23001 then look which network name was added. Thanx a lot.

@code
are you asking about whether the FW R4A008 will make the T39 work like a T68i?
if that is your question, the answer is that it wont.
if you're asking if the new FW supports java, it doesn't.
about new functions - well it depends on what your old FW version was. i came from R2G, lots of improvent over the old one. |

Hi GOwin
as you said, are you still having problems with your T39 after upgrading? Must be minor ones right?

Not really.
my GPRS connections are unstable. Even after having the firmware re-flashed.
the local service point is still trying to determine the cause.

Mine is T39mc with latest sw (R4A008) |

My problems are all gone! I backed up the data to my palm and just did a master reset. That should be SOP whenever they flash a new firmware

That's great Aikonoklast!
What used to be the problem with your phone? I don't remember you posting it here.
Anyway, I got curious about "I backed up the data to my palm", what data was backed up and what software (GSMtool?). Most of us here uses Christersson's Backup program (<-URL) to safeguard phone data (settings, address book, etc.)
There's a disscussion thread about it here. (<- URL link, in case you're WAPping this message) |

Hi gowin, i just beamed the calendar and phonebook. I didn't use a backup program, i wanted to load fresh data so as not to inadvertently put in corrupt stuff. I set up data accts, wap bookmarks, etc manually
