@red-mdc Yes your right it is a taste of our own medicine but there again do you send messages over and over again to a persons fone because I don't, and do you send dodgy adverts and porn ads to the persons phone because this is what I believe personaly will start to happen. However I do have to question if it will take off. For the simple reason that if people start to recieve these messages I as one will turn my BT off, and I'm geussing many others will to and as soon as shops start to realise this they will figure out BT isn't a very good method of marketing simply because people are turning off their BT.
Also another example is with span txt messages, a few years a go I got a load of these when txt was really starting to take off, as I'm geussing they got nowhere with using txt as marketing I have stopped receiving these' dial bla bla bla to win £50000. So I hope that once they realise people are simply ignoring the messages or turning off their BT they will stop using BT as a marketing scheme.
Lets hope hey!!

Although the number of people with BT enabled phones is rising, I don't think its enough for any company to rely on Bluejacking as an advertisement. After all you don't need a special reciever to get a leaflet. (Unfortunatly ) |

LOL! I suppose you could just retaliate and send them a load of messages back. Or ask them to block your phone and stop sending messages to your phone. Because I'm geussing if you ask them to stop sending you messages and they carry on sending them theres some way you could sue them for it, seeing you can sue anyone for pretty much anything these days.

I have just got back from my trip to the USA and saw the beta software demonstrated - it's pretty neat!
It allows the store/shop to set different messages based on the day and time and it records the name of the phone that it sent it to. It has a master list of standard phone names which it then ignores when it has sent to them so that if you keep your phone name as standard then it will resend the message that day but if you have set your phone to something non-standard then it will ensure that you don't get another message based on a time that can be set by the store - never, once per day/week/month etc.
Thus you could request that you don't receive messages ever from them and they add your phone name to the master list.
It can also receive messages and respond to pre-defined text with specific actions such as REMOVE or MORE INFO etc all of which can be defined and set by the store.
The range is allegedly 100metres but that is the theorectical maximum.
So it is happening but I personally believe that it will be a year or two before it comes to your high street.

I BJ'd two in the lounge at Gatwick yesterday and 3 in the transfer coach at Franfurt airport so it can't be that bad.
I do love the bluejack applet in SMan on the P900, it makes mass bluejacking so easy

Can you explain how that will work?
I have a BT dongle and printer but I'm not sure if I fully understand how my phone can send a message to a random printer that has BT.
Any further details?
Thanks

Damn it sucks that ppl go and find something really cool just to have someone else find a way to make money out of it. |
