I have not heard any of this either, and would think that if this was happening, there would be at least some mention of it in a forum somewhere.

Anyway, I did want to say this though. I just purchased a T616 and also have a T68i that I purchased earlier this year. I remembered when I first got the T616, I looked at the chargers and it of course had the same connection and even had the same model number. But the voltage on the T616 said 4.9v and the T68i said 5.1v.

Bollox, i work in the industry and i aint heard anything about this, saying that this is coming from a company that is loosing customers hand over fist to the other 4 networks, remember when the p800 first came out, orange were saying that there was a software fault with it, when there wasn't, they just didn't buy enough stock to supply the demand of the handset...

I would take this with the pinch of salt that it deserves...

Orange put their own version of manual, their own version of firmware, and who can say that they are bulk buying chargers for their phones? Why is the orange t200 unaffected?

@all8
Three years??? The phone has just been out for about 2 yrs.

The chargers I got with the T610 & T68m are slightly different.

T68m
INPUT:100-240VAC~150mA 50-60Hz
OUTPUT:5.1V - 450mA
Made in Morocco by ST

T610
INPUT:100-240VAC~70mA, 50-60Hz
OUTPUT:4.9VDC - 450mA
Made in China by Salcomp

Get real. I just replaced my 3 year old T68m with T610. Neither Phone nor charger exploded. I am now charging my new T610 with old T68 charger

sounds terrible...
however this is highly unlikely to happen...as there are protect circuits in the charger...
in fact phone battery also has protection circuits in it in case they are accidentally short...
could it be someone out there trying to pull a fast one...?!?

I am with jonbob on this one...... I don't think it beyond Orange to just have run out of chargers

Anyway... no explosions reported. And personally.. I would think that orange would think twice about saying such a thing without thorough proof to back up the story..... (the word lawsuit ringing in my ears)

I'm thinking it's an Orange problem

[EDIT] I passed by the Orange shop on my way to work and phones are for sale Guess there are still enough European chargers in stock the eh? [/EDIT]
