@ripkord
You should just try to trust people like SonyEricsson Indonesia. He apparently has an 'inside' contact who showed him the unofficial phone and he was nice enough to share the information with us. There can't be any evidence because it is all confidential and shouldn't leak outside of SE. So it'll have to stay a rumor, at least it's one that I believe is 100% true. |

besides, the sony z600 is a laptop already!
and the info is from a previously banned user?
can you blame me for being sceptical?
If you want to believe him then ok, fair enough.

Suppose hes telling the truth, I doubt they would replace a non clam phone with a clam phone....?
And usually even before the phone has been produced or even prototyped, there is some sort of news about it...........
personally, If he seen anything it will be the model up / model down from the z1010, as sony will be going into the 3g market more than anything right now.

You think they are going to announce this phone right after the t610 came out, you think they are going to say we have made a sucessor to the t610 and are going to release it in september or whatever. no they are not because then no one would want to buy the t610 just wait and see, just wait and see |

Why would a clam phone be the successor of the T610 and why would they replace it so soon? I can buy the idea of a successor so soon it if a T610i or something would come but the Z600 hardly sounds like a sucessor in any way from what has been said here. Sounds more likely to be a new modle to fill out the range to me.
But I guess I can buy a T610 without worrying since I don't like clam phones at all.

Perhaps the Z600 is already registered in the FCC database...
Someone can search?

If i'm not mistaken FCC is only for US market, so maybe they won't release it there and therefore it won't be there, so that is no indication.
As for the belief, well, maybe I am blindly believing Sony Ericsson Indonesia, but I believe him for a reason. I have lots of experience into how Ericsson works, and they give their newest prototypes to senior managers who are willing to test them, making this sound like a plausible story. The reason for wanting a clam-shell replacement of the T610 is to make the market ready for them, because they are the future. I actually don't prefer them at all, but if one looks at Japan (which is about three years ahead of us in technology) they are all clam-shell phones over there.
@ripkord
Of course you have reason to be skeptical, I would be as well if I wasn't as familiar with the company in question as I happen to be.
@Sony Ericsson Indonesia
Thanks for sharing this info., even if it isn't true it shows that SE are moving in the right direction with their product development. |

As Z600 will be triband (1900Mhz for US market) he have to be registered in the FCC database to be authorized on the US territory. As it was the case of P800, T68i, T610, etc.
For more info about phones who are registered by FCC you can consult phonescoop.com |
