Finally a solid opinion...too many wars are fought on basis of religion. People need to relax.

I don't like conflict, but I do like someone to ensure Iraq is properly disarmed according to UN treaties they signed. I think its poor that certain UN member countries wouldn't help push for deadlines to have this disarmament made reality. That doesn't need to involve conflict, just a whole governing body ensuring agreements signed in their name are kept. Maybe we (the USA) are enciting conflict for the wrong reasons (oil is a valuable thing)...I'm not arguing that pro or con. Alas, better actions were needed by the UN council to keep Iraq in line with the treaties THEY SIGNED. That is what is most important. These treaties were put into place to ensure these weapons were not manufactured or put in place. I think talks were stagnating and Bush decided to push the hand. What should be done when talks fail and fail again and again...keep talking? Sometime you need to act.

Regarding the british MP (I hope I got the term right) that resigned, I can see his frustration and that he acted when he felt talks had failed. Though I'm not sure if resigning would be as valuable as staying in and gathering support.

Personally I wish certain european countries would have backed less drastic resolutions to form deadlines which did not have to result in the US taking actions apart from the UN. There's no good win at this point. But then again maybe Saddam should have been outed back in 1991? "And this ones for my daddy!" eheheh oh well

problem is disarmament was beginning to progress. UN inspectors said their work could be completed in a matter of months. granted that progress was largely due to the presence of military forces, but still if the objective could be achieved without force, then why not let the process work?

unfortunately, there is isn't as much profit involved for defense contractors if peace ensues, and bush's personal obective is more about regime change than disarmament. funny also how these WMD's that everyone is so appalled about were supplied by the US and the UK during the Iran-Iraq war.

as far as respecting treaties goes, hasn't the US ever heard of Kyoto or the ABM treaty? or is the rest of the world supposed to respect treaties but the US will only do so when it is convenient? [addsig]

I'm surprised that George 'Dubya' hasn't decided to attack North Korea or Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe, yet. Or are they next on his agenda ?

His is the leader of the house, which means he is directly under Tony Blair’s command; he resigned from the government only to become a normal MP (Leaving everything behind) which is not commanded, can oppose, or vote against bush’s strategy

u don't understand... this is not about weapons of mass destruction!!!!
it's about money!!!! oil money, to be precise... that's why USA, UK and Australia need war... and that's why france doesn't want war... they invested 350 million dollars in iraqi oilfields... Portugal and Spain are just in it for the ride... (the most pityful of all, i'm afraid... they don't even have a reason to wage war... only reason they support it is to suck up to Bush...)
what i haven't figured out yet is why Germany is against it as well... maybe they are the truly noble ones in this issue...
i'ts obvious what game China and Russia are playing... the same old part. bush is taking a dump on'em anyways...

War creates CRIMES!
War creates SORROW!
Nothing can be invented in wars.
P800 wasn't invented during wars.
