Phase detect AF is the standard name in the camera industry...
But Apple called it Focus Pixels instead lol
Sapphire is supposed to make it unscratchable. I'm not sure about unbreakable, maybe? They said the glass is enhanced with Ions, whatever that means?
And Apple is the master of hype. The way that they present their unveilings and the way the company behaves is almost like a cult or the popular kid at school. No doubt they're the most successful consumer company in the world and have innovated/led certain tech products, but this year's products aren't great. The watch and the phones could've been so much better, but they're on par/slightly below other products. Hype machine. |

@etabb I always laugh at the iSight moniker. Using a Sony lens and rebranding it with ipoo. Apple are simply a very good marketing company nothing more now. Dont get me started on the iWatch lol

Ive never known a company back-track on their own opinions and political stances as much as Apple have. The fact they said a year or two ago that screen size is perfect at 3.5", to now step up twice to the now large 4.7" which is the same as my SGS3 (which came out 2.5yrs ago !!). Total hypocrisy. Like you said, its the same with the NFC and probably other functions i cannot be bothered to research about from years ago.
Steve Jobs must be doing somersaults in his grave at some of the stances he took are now coming to be popular and that Apple are now having to implement to keep up with the market.
It would be so bad if Apple were to issue a statement to the tech media stating they were sorry and that they were wrong on some of their opinions. But they wont, they're also completely ignorant to the fact they didn't invent anything - as per the iSight moniker. Its a camera, a bloody camera, drop the moniker !
The lower case i is simply their last remaining defence of keeping the buying consumer base in love with something they ignorantly think is better when really, its less.

Apple according to Pockenow have had yet more pre order cock ups. Stock is always scarce and for a huge company like Apple who know they'll sell millions of phones why are they never prepared for the onslaught of pre orders?? Don't they make the phones in advance?? Total mess again

Where are the camera samples? Is Apply so embarrassed with the "new" 8MP iSight module that it is preventing any sample photos from being published? 
I remember last year they officially sent out full size 8MP samples on the day they announced the 5s.
