In hand held twilight (HHT) mode the camera increases the ISO and shutter speed resulting in a bit more noise but less shaky/blurry picture... This is to reduce blur in low light images due to shaky hands... |

Thanks. I just asked someone I realised I did see it earlier but when people use the letters in stead of words I forget what they are talking about. I must be getting old

There really are some great photos here in this thread, it just goes to show that the Z1 can take cracking shots.

Well it's not exactly like that, and it's purpose is to reduce noise:
"The Handheld Twilight and Anti Motion Blur modes both fire-off six frames in quick succession and stack them to deliver a single image with claims of better protection against noise and camera shake. "

For reducing shake there is another mode- Anti Motion Blur (AMB) mode.
@Bono
From what I've seen, HHT mode delivers the sharpest night shots. You could also try Night Portrait/Lanscape mode.
And please do post full resolution samples next time

yeah great shots bono , thanks a lot for sharing , I like the way Z1 has minimal black clipping on the shadows. Makes the whole picture much more pleasant to look at.
