Why was colour ever invented? Black & White is enough, plus 6million scales of grey

Nice shots mate.
Hans, without colour our life would be boring. TO ME, B&W means sadden, gloomy, loneliness.

guys,

I know you all love to share photo and might have been doing in on the Photos section of Esato.

did you notice there's always some idiot who simply put a ONE to bring your rating down?

I suspect someone was doing it on purpose just to boost his/ her.

I hope the admin of Esato do notice this and plan to fix it...as it is just too annoying.

I couldn't say every picture I post is high quality but I can't accept that when I get like 10 clicks with 9 put a 10....1 of the clicks is a 1....it sound unlogic as if the other 9 persons are morons?

c96sthl, you may be right but this is not the right thread to discuss this topic. In past, this thing is already drawn to our mods. I think there is not only one person but a group or a person with multiple usernames doing all this. his.

Wow... IR filter?
Can it attached to my phone and turn my phone into night vision cam?

I use a Hoya R72 which I just hold in front of the lens... It actually does not "attach" to my phone.

As far as night vision, far from it... It literally filters out almost ALL visible light so only on the brightest days can I capture enough IR light to get results like in the image I posted. Not to mention, it doesn't work with all cell phones and the quality of the images vary from phone to phone. In order for it to work you need to have a phone which does not include a built in IR cut filter.

I have found that it works best with my older phones... newer phones like my Nokia N95, N86, N8 and Sony C905a produce a hot spot at the center of the image due to the way IR light hits the sensor. My Xperia Play R800x seems to have a an IR cut filter built in so even on the brightest days, pictures come out VERY dark when trying to use the IR filter.

To give you some idea of how little daylight makes it through the IR filter I just took two quick shots...
1st holding up a 2stop polarizing filter and then the IR filter

i see some videos on youtube, some people use blue and red filters (and a pile of IR LEDs)
it turns a digicam into a Night Vision device...
sorry... i'm out of topics

Hihi what's this then?? An excellent shot there!! I do notice that black & white makes photos sharper & less noisy!! And makes your complexion better in a portrait
