Personally I love the shape of the Arc.
If the concave back bothers you, it's at least good to know that when someone makes a battery upgrade for it it will probably be flat. Kind of cool really. It would still be quite thin, but possibly over 2000mah |

"The big question is, will they be able to keep this phone up with android"
Stupid comment, they've allready proven that. It has the latest version and there has also
appered pictures of the Arc with Android 2,4 (even though this tells us nothing). I have
talked with some friends on SE and clearly they have realised that they have to keep up
with the latest version and now they have proven it so FU all the complains. SE in my heart!!
I agree that this is something Sony Ericsson could do better. Having the latest Android version is important for 2-3% of the interested consumers while the remaining 97-98% do not know the difference between 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 or they simply do not care. The thing is that these 2-3% are the tech bloggers and reviewers of mobile phones so this is what potentional buyers think is important.
The life cyclus of Android sub versions seems to be shorter and shorter, and Sony Ericsson throws in a lot of proprietary things on top of Android which needs to be implemented and tested before public release. I guess the upgrade "delay" we often hear people complain about are caused by this. |

You do not have to educate me about the Media player on Xperia Arc. I knew about it and I had already seen it. What my question is why SE did not include their own customized media player!
As far as I know, this media app your talking about is the native media player of Android 2.3 not an improved version of Mediascape!

True, but what I mean is that SE allready have done it better. At the moment they announced the Arc.
Hopefully we'll stop hearing all the complains from now on. |

How could it be better? You have to open separate apps just to view your photos and listen to your music instead of just one. And as you can see clearly on those pics you posted, the media is just a folder containing shorcut icons for the gallery, media player and radio so how can it be an advanced version of Mediascape? Mediascape is a single application, not a folder. |

Fuuuuuuuuuck i have like 1 year left on my 24 moth deal with the x10i ... the concave design and MT is perfect for gaming (as i do quite alot at work, but without MT i can only play a few games or like 1-2 good ones)
i could buy it cash but... hmms why do they do this to me, keep suporting the x10i and not make a new one

My thoughts exactly. Let's hope that the wizards at XDA can make a naked Android build for it when SE begins to lag some 8mths after worldwide release. Compared to the Samsung Inspire for AT&T this should do quite well. Pricing will be KEY to this devices success along with smooth/fast performance.Apps & features are there already and its fairly current in spec - top-tier that is for the Neo or something better I think.

I read somewhere that it has noise cancelling, isn't the second mic for that? |

SE Xperia Arc white paper :

The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc will be powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, and the Adreno 205 GPU will give a great graphical performance.
