After handling the N8 for the first time today i can say otherwise. The slide lock is rather nice being metal and that it also has a pretty strong spring. Secondly, the volume keys are recessed, so that the they do not protrude out from the phone. They also have a very nice click to them when pressed which is pretty tactile. I was expecting them to be pretty dumb keys compared to my Satio's volume keys nut they're actually very nice.

Eldar has finaly posted his N8 Review: http://mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n8-full-en.shtml he makes some interesting points, some im sure many of us who have left Symbian for iOS/Android may have thought of when we saw the N8 in action, other than its camera it wont appeal as much to those who have a lot of experience with iOS/Android, but rather to those who dont have much experience with them and are coming from s60v3/s60v5, the N8 will be great for them. Overall a good read, confirmed many of my thoughts, GSMArena's preview did the same for me: http://gsmarena.com/nokia_n8-review-520.php looking forward to their full review to.

@ Tsepz_GP - nobody is interested in Mr Murtazin anymore, he has lost all his credibility since his arguement with Nokia. He hasnt a good word to say about them, their phones or Symbian. Kinda reminds me of you !

They make great loudspeakers my 5800 works as a mini boombox when i gym at home, there i said something nice.
As for Eldar, you dont have to read the review, i posted it here for those who still do read them, i like the way he structures the reviews and goes into a bit of detail when it comes to internal hardware, as he cant BS about those things, but like i said, you dont have to read it.

No, in fact im reading it as we speak for a laugh at how pathetic his views are. You seem to be the only one who thinks he still has credibility. But then, you're of the same mind as him which is why you came to this thread to post more anti-Symbian trash. No ?
Rumbled !

Anti-symbian trash i post a link to a review you dont like and suddenly im trashing symbian?
You havent said a thing about the GSMArena preview though lol, they seem impressed, but all you want to do is focus on the negative, something you keep accusing me of oh dear...

No not at all, it just seemed you only came back to this thread to post in such a negative manner.
The GSMarena preview is good to read, but then people dont want to talk about normality. I have found over the years GSMarena's opinions have always been pretty unbiased. They have identified just how many sites or reviewers have given the N8 such poor opinions which seem to have no justification.
Gizmodo, Engadget and Mobile-Review are all guilty of silly bias against Nokia IMO. It is ridiculous just how obvious their complete bullcrap they're spreading is !

Haha, with you etaab Every time after reading something from Eldar I think I won't read something from him ever again, and then over the months I get to respect him more and read his reviews again. And straightaway I realise what kind of crap he produces again
GSM Arena my favorite review-site also, though I think they are not critical enough mostly. Reviewing phones myself though I know how hard it is to be realy critical and it happens often that I'm positive about a phone in my review and then after a few months while reading back that review think "why on earth was I that positive about that piece of crap" Might be something with the new-ness of the product or something.

Its true devices grow on us in time, whilst others we love at first then cannot wait to get rid of them. Im currently looking forwards to leaving my Satio within the capable hands of a friend who wont expect too much from it like i did.
Murtazin always had my respect and i always looked forwards to his opinions until his beef with Nokia. He created the problem IMO, so should admit that and move on before he loses all credibility as a journalist.

If that was my aim i would have posted Engadget, Gizmodo and other negative reviews, i simply came to post links to two sites i know many read here and my opinion on them,i myself mainly read Mobile-Review and GSMArena Reviews, and then watch Phonedog.com's reviews from YouTube, dont think many watch those though, but i will post a link to their review if its up as Noah tends to be very objective, a lot more down to earth compared to the other US Reviewers.

www.phonearena.com Looks like it's a good one except still Symbian looking a bit dated. Review gave it 8.5

Which existing Symbian apps are compatible with S^3? Series 40/60? UIQ?

Im not sure, check the Ovi store. I see many apps on there that are apparently compatible with the N8, but im not sure if they're the same apps you'd install on an old handset like the N97, or updated apps to work on Symbian 3.
