and like i said before, this video on GSM arena is recorded with a early BETA (CA) firmware, so come on, even you guys cant be so naive

I don't see that your samples are any better. Very poor frame rate and high compression with a lot of artifacts. Looks like shot with a T610 and scaled up to QVGA.

@AbuBasim that's right.I believe this ends with choosing N82. really deserves all this competition with C902 (pang you lose;)!

appolloa, could you link me that key ring?

im torn between the touch screen and symbian OS.

I do want to use the internet but i also want VOIP, which the renoir doesnt have>?

Sure, I got t for christmas but my sister brought it of amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Propo[....]ctronics&qid=1241795203&sr=8-1

The official webpage for it is:

http://freedominput.com/freedom-accessories/keychain-gps-2000

I'm afraid the only decent touch screen symbian device with a good camera is the Sony Ericsson Idou. Can you wait for it?

Kikos pretty much summed it up with his list (apps) .

The 5800 is the only touch screen S60 phone right now, but if I'm correct not all S60 apps work on it (due to the touch screen, but I haven't used it so I wouldn't know for sure). And if I'm not mistaken, the Renoir can only run Java apps.

The 5800 is OK, but the camera is missing xenon and isn't the best, quality wise.

I still have to recommend the N82. I think the devices raw power makes up for the lack of a touch screen.

What I was looking for in a cell phone in order of importance was:

1- wifi -> innov8, renoir, c905, n82

2- very good camera -> pixon, innov8, renoir, c905, n82

3- big screen -> pixon, renoir, innov8

4- video/music player -> RENOIR, pixon, innov8, c905

5- flash -> C905, N82, renoir

6- acceptable video reccording -> PIXON, RENOIR, innov8, n82, c905

7- design -> pixon, renoir, c905

These were my needs... I analyzed every cell phone in every need i had and made up my mind towards Renoir.
I can say that I'm very happy with my choice, every video i throw in the cell it played without problems, the pics' quality is great, dun know if any c905 modded cam driver can take pics as good as renoir' ones.
Its xenon flash is good enough for me, 95% of my night pics are with friends and girls at nightclubs, and as I said before, at 2.5 meters it does a good job... not as good as a c905 or a n82, but i can live with it.

Now u have to think of your needs... if it must have voip and a really good camera than u have few options -> n82, n95, innov8...
than whats more important next?? big screen, xenon flash or design?

if its xenon -> n82
if its bigger screen -> n96/innov8
if its design -> dun know... don't think either of them are beautiful.. too big

i think that in sunlight their pics aren't too much different, except that innov8 has 8MP...

I hope I've helped u!

by the way which is the reason of eliminating x1? the price?

because if not the price, then we have many good things with x1
big touch screen
full keyboard (though could be not very useful with big touchscreen)
video and camera are good as far as I know, and all your requirements should be covered

ok there's no symbian s60, but it's windows mobile, so remember my big app list? it's all there with windows mobile too with even bigger choice.

it seems to me that LG Renoir will not have much pros over x1

Abu, are you sure that 420 euro is not enough? I just do not know the price.
Boinng, actually I would disagree that x1 is not a great choice in it's own category, in my opinion it's great. Now I'm using 5800, but I would buy x1 if not the top high price in Armenia

so what do you think guys?

well, about gps i'll check that later, then i post here...
about aplications I'm sure we cant compare the capability of a Symbian OS and a Windows mobile phone with Renoir/c905... it's unfair, I mean, i've never had a smart phone, but for example, Renoir can only read office and pdf docs... i can't edit them, besides, the file mustn't be very big, or it'll slow down the phone!! ^^ Now with smartphones, it's completely different i think (lol). someone correct me if i'm talking bullsh*t here plz.

about entertainment what do u understand?? games? music? videos?
if it's game u should go for n82, if its video for Renoir, music i think it isn't THAT different...

For the previous thread of posting YOUTUBE links. It doesn't count because youtube as we all know is scaled down (unless plank doesn't understand this and it is him against the world again).

Anyway, I would recommend the 82 for your needs.

It's possible to have quite good quality in YouTube. Check out this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6exGspNcnw
Make sure you click the HD option!
We can dream of the day when a camphone can shoot this kind of quality...

N82, N95, etc.....looks HORRIBLE in bigger size, (just ridiculous to even call it "good" quality)

Guys im now deciding bettween omnia vs renoir... starting to want a touchscreen.
now question is 8MP camera vs GOOD GPS -> symbian

1. How much better is omnia's 5MP to my k810 3.2 MP?

2. How good is the GPS on the renoir?? I want to use it to drive into new countries etc etc.. So i would also need "local maps"!!

Just a note - omnia is not symbian
it's windows mobile

I haven't used neither omnia nor renoir but the winner is the windows mobile - you won't miss any functionality with it!

sounds like an ad!
