If you want a Digital (DSP) Bluetooth handsfree and can't wait for BlueSpoon's version:

More on the BT200 and the T39m:
I have an Ipaq, and can use it to initiate calls on my phone. This doesn't make much sense without a handsfree, since in that case you'd have to get the phone out to talk anyway, so why initiate the call from the Ipaq? But with a handsfree, it makes more sense -- if you're already working on the Ipaq, and need to make a call, you don't have to dig out your phone.
Problem: it doesn't work! The Ipaq initiates the call, but the call audio is not sent to the BT200, but instead is sent to the phone speaker! This is so even if I press the button on the headset. This is odd, given that when I dial a call on the phone manually, it is routed to the headset by default. Why shouldn't it do so when the call is initiated externally by the Ipaq?
Has anyone tried this on a T68i? If it works properly on that, then I'll upgrade my T39m to a T68i.

Well I've had my Bluetrek for about a week and it funtionality if really great. Sound quality is good, and people say they can hear me real clear. The review in Mobile Burn was on point.
The only gripe I have about it is the plastic used for the inner ear piece. I believe its not strong enough and will eventually tear. Mine seems to be doing this already. But I really can't stake that to be accurate because I bought it off of ebay and the seller said it was never used but when I received it, it was already charged. |

Try this - it worked on my T637/Bluetrek G2 combination.
To answer using the headset and voice....
First connect bluetooth headset
Settings > Voice Control > Voice Answer > On > Bluetooth (Check and Save)
or if voice answer is already on
Setting > Voice Control > Voice Answer > Environments > Bluetooth (check and save)
To hear caller name on headset...
First connect bluetooth headset
Then make sure handsfree type is basic mode. Settings > Handsfree > Handsfree type > Basic
Settings > Voice Control > Caller Name > On
Settings > Voice Control > Voice Answer > On
Now choose Bluetooth by pressing "*" (it is important to use the * key for this). Then click on Save.
Now when a call comes in from some one who is in my phonebook and for whom I have a voice tag, the caller name plays first in the phone, then when the phone connects automatically connects to the blueset (with a very slight delay), the name plays again in the headset. Then you can say Answer or Busy to either take it or ditch it.
I got this info from Sony Ericsson knowledgebase (on their support website) after searching the internet for around 4 hours! And it worked great - i luv it!
Good luck!!!

Rhumbabum, thanks for your reply.
Under Settings/Voice Control/Voice Settings/Voice Answer, I can tick either or both "Car handsfree" or "Port handsfree". I have both ticked, but Voice Answer still does not work.
Another feature apparently not supported by the BT200 is Caller Name: When I receive a call from someone for whom a caller name is recorded, I still only get a ring, even though I have Caller Name switched on. Has anyone got this to work with the BT200?
Perhaps if I upgrade my software these problems will disappear?
Thanks,
Ron

Very similar design - better battery life is about the only difference.

hi guys,
i had been using the hbh-20 for more than a year along with my t68, good quality both mic and the speaker, and since i changed to a p900 now, i aint using it anymore. i have one doubt, idont know whether its silly r not but wud appreciate an answer. i have different ringtones for different people. which bluetooth headset will play the corresponding ringtone on my bluetooth headset itself. for instance 2day i went shopping for a bt headset for my friend's n6600. i finally ended up buying a matrix bt. i paired it in seconds and after pairing even the key tones were heard on the bt. the different ringtones came for different people. i tried the same thing on my sep900, but heard only a standard ring on the bt headset. y is it so? is there a setting that i can change to get the ringtone? or doesnt SE support such a feature which nokia is able to do.
thnx
George

Hi Guys,
I am interested in getting a Bluetooth headset to pair with my T630 (mostly for in car use). I also need it to pair with my PC (Internet radio and Skype). What headset should I go for, taking the following into consideration?
Sound quality (ear piece and mic).
Battery Life.
Bluetooth range.
Make and receive a call with voice activation.
Small size/Comfortable to wear.
Multiple Pairing (easily change pairing from phone to PC).
Need in car charging.
Hear different ring tones for different contacts.
Change phone profile using voice commands.
Am I right in thinking that the SE Headsets have poor battery life compared to other brands? The only reason I can think of for going for a SE Headset is that I wouldn't have to double up on chargers. One for the phone and one for the headset.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

someone was asking about the plantronics.
i have a plantronics m-3000. nothing much to say about it, it works alright, has a decent range when paired with my t-68i. the speaker could be a bit louder but the mic works just fine.
bit of a problem wearing it with glasses/sunglasses. its possible, but doesnt feel so comfortable.
range is about 20 feet. can work thru one wall, but gets a bit crackly. |
