Hi..
I had a W910 and bought w705. When i compare them side by side with the same theme, the screen on w705 look lousy. The color is dull, too bright with the same setting on both phones, object wash out..
Anyone has this proble,m??

just tried the same thing with a work mates' w910i and my w705 and
get the opposite result - my phones' display is much better than the
w910i with the settings matching !!
I reject your reality and substitute my own. |

thanks for the testing. In that case, i would bring it to the service centre for a check out.

HI all.Even i was bit by the SONY bug and i have just bought a W705. 
This is what i feel about it
1) The Screen.Awwww its just tooo good.Honestly its brilliant.
2)The camera.I wasn't expecting soo much from a Walkam phone but the camera does a brilliant job.Especially in outdoors its just fantastic !
3)The Sound quality.Sorry to say but i was disappointed I was expecting a lot from a Walkman phone .Well yes it is very clear but then it is not loud at all from the back speaker.The headphones are sufficient but nothing they aren't anything to write home about. SE could have done much better .They could have at least provided stereo speakers and its not that they haven provided them in the past.W595 and many others have dual speakers then why not a latest phone which is worth Rs 17000(India)?
4)Build Quality. Its good.Being a slider you cant exp[ect it to be rock solid but then it is really good for a slider.
5)Battery Backup.Its good.Well it is a loaded phone and it does good.

And that concludes it.Till now i am satisfied with my phone and do look forward to improving the sound quality by putting some acostics into it.

Well yes it is.I tried the following acoustics franc_marc_v3.0_acoustic_for_sony_c905 it does say for c905 but it worked on my w705.All i did was drag and drop all the farfield play files via a2 uploader to ifs/settings/acoustics.The outcome was that the sound has gone up but it dosen have the bass it used to have earlier.But it is very loud and i am happy with it for now until acoustics are available specifically for w705. |

Can anyone tell me if this phone will (ever) have a sat-nav application that doesn't require a monthly subscription? i.e. just a one off application you can buy (like TomTom) and install on the phone that will use its GPS capability?

WeTravel is sat-nav {[works on my unbranded w715(gps) ]} " R1GA030 CENTRAL-EUROPE"
- download maps, so V.cheap to run. Assisted start may cost ( but it's slower )
It's still in developement, so keep an eye out.
The screen going black for fun ( IDLE ) is the reason I'm debating going back to Htc 
searched everywhere, no luck. - Do any english roms have this feature enabled, I'm in for the testing if it's not
