Tracking the 3G iPhone by sea
Import Genius, a site that tracks shipments of goods via container ships entering the U.S., has some data that lends credibility to the release of Apple's 3G iPhone next month.

I don't know which is worse - that industry anticipation is such that people are even trying to trainspot shipments of the 3G iphone or that I just clicked on that link and read the whole thing...
At least on June 9 we'll finally have some concrete info.

http://www.idealschina.com/Insider/
Idealchina has taken photos which should once and for all verify the iPhone 3G size and the position of the new camera and sensors.
These photos are of GRIFFIN TECHNOLOGY’S new FlexGrip iPhone 3G silicone case mold and the iPhone 3G 3D specs to fill that case. (For those who are unfamiliar, GRIFFIN is considered to be the most creditable company in the iPod accessory business). These pictures will verify the iPhone 3G size and sensors and the position of the new camera. GRIFFIN’S body fitting FlexGrip case can only be made once they have the exact shape and size of the iPhone 3G
These are the images for the case molds from the site, they don't appear to be the usual blurry, cameraphone variety either.

Only 4 days now til we finally get info on the most anticipated phone of the year. I didn't really pay much attention to previous releases of iPhone and iPods; what do you guys reckon will be the best source for info? Apple's website? WWDC website if there is one? You-tube? Will the internet crash under the strain?
Anyone?

... but it says US launch is very likely, and we all know how easy it is to get US iphones to UK
so in this small world, it doesn't matter if they don't actually launch it locally right away, I guess

So do you reckon you will have your hands on one in a couple of weeks then masseur?

well... lets see if it is announced, and if so, what the new features are and then I'll consider pricing but only if there's a simple unlock procedure like there was for the original models
thats alot of ifs but if it all works out then I'll be sure to dive in head first!

Likely to be pricy I bet too. Do you reckon they might have learned from the 1st iPhone and will make it even more difficult to unlock?
Still, where there is a will, there is a way I suppose.
