in any case, the fact that kimi crashed out surely makes this all a non issue and just the officials being pedantic?
...and massa was not close enough to be affected by any advantage there might have been, but now massa has an advantage from this in the world championship as he's so much closer to Hamilton
I could understand them pressing this if kimi finished second, but this is really uneccessary for the sport

As expected , Mclaren have lodged an appeal.
Fingers crossed, it's not over yet.

Not to be overly emotive but IMO, the whole thing is run by racist/facists who are wetting themselves at the prospect of a non Ferrari driving black guy becoming champion.

having watched the race this seems unfair and makes you wonder if the officials have something against Hamilton/Mclaren
Hamilton did everything he could to give the position back, although the commentators mentioned that maybe he had a bit more momentum cutting the corner than he would have if he had done the bend normally.
many other drivers often cut the corner and as long as they return to their pre-corner position they receive no penalty!
how was Lewis to know how far back he should go in order to remove the possible advantage he got? there was just no way for him to know that
so as I said... very unfair
DISGUSTING!!! I've always kept quiet about this SICK relationship FIA seems to have with Ferrari but after this I'm convinced that they are in Ferrari's corner. Two weeks ago Massa got away with a minor fine and poor Lewis has to be stripped of his title.
Unbelievably unfair in every sense of the word!

The FIA will always suck on the big fat Ferrari c**k so crossing your fingers will just lead to premature arthritis with nothing gained.

It was not Massa's fault at Valencia.
There was nothing in it , it was a unfair fine.
10K euro , lot of money. But the team decided to bear the cost.

You're missing the point. Ferrari almost always gets away with a slap on the wrist, particularly when you compare them with McLaren.

I did agree the penalty is a bit harsh.
He did have an advantage and he used it so he deserved a penalty.

If he broke a rule, he deserves to be punished. That is a slight punishment, he may have been dropped further and been given a penalty for the next race.
Either way, McLaren are a loser team. They always have a superior car yet they flop. You can't go throwing around racism and other wild theories of c**k sucking.
Hamilton got points after all, he should be happy. He is in a good position and there are a few races to go still. Its up to him now to prove himself as a champ.
Remember, the guy who finishes second is the first in a long line of losers. |

Yeah, but punishments should be equal for everybody, the FIA is in Ferrari's pocket, that Nazi Mosely (and others) have always bent over backwards to give them all the advantages, i'm old and wise enough to know a fix when i see one.

indeed. hamilton did everything he could at the time to undo what had been gained when he took this avoidance action so as not to hit kimi. perhaps Ferrari would have preferred that he did hit kimi at that point?
anyway, how was Lewis supposed to know at what point any advantage gained had been given back? would a 1 second gap have been enough? 2 seconds? how does a driver know at that moment in the heat of a race what advantage may or may not have been gained and what to do to correct it?
Lewis certainly did everything he could at that moment to give kimi back his position
lets hope the appeal causes the officials to see some sense

i agree M...
And for the person that said he got an advantage, he gave the position back, he was then travelling at 6kph slower than Kimi when they crossed the line, he overtook him at the next corner because he braked later than Kimi (we all know Hamilton is the better driver in the wet, hence he caught Kimi in the first place!)...
fingers crossed the appeal will sort it... |

agree with every1 here .. i think Lewis did a splendid job of keeping his nerves and carried the fight all the way to the end. It was a great race to watch. Hard luck for kimi, overtook lewis in the first lap and then never looked back till the skies opened up and then things changed .. only if schumi can teach kimi how to drive in the wet hehe
Lewis still has the chance to win the title and so does massa
it is all going down to the wire
