But you're forgetting this is about "market segmentation". I realized this and was HOPING for WiFi but I know SE will not deliver at least in the next 5yrs. Not everybody wants to carry a wide & almost twice as thick smartphone with them just to have WiFi. IF NetFront and SE allow for more cache (more than the 300KB + 1MB in the K850i) and put in WiFi its QUITE capable of full html web surfing and would satisfy many ppl.
But this phone is incredible .... its going to be a collectors with its 8GB of memory imbedded. Remember how stoked we all where with the W900 with its 1GB of mem. I just hope this can record with QVGA @ 30fps; would be the cherry on the top.

But it isn't that high-end so it should be called w940 or something like that. i thought that the successor of w960 should have at least 3.2 MP camera with AF  |

Its not the successor of the W960i.
The W9xx naming is not reserved for smart-phones. Think more of the W900 or W910, which this phone undoubtedly beats on every level. A lot of people think that the numbers pretty much stand for how good a camera it has, but W stands for Walkman and so SE names it according to the music software's advancements over other models. So this has 8GB, external music keys, FM transmitter, etc. Which are all more than any other Walkman phone has had in terms of music playing functionality. It even beats the W960i for music playing functions. So therefore, the W980i name is justifiable. It has nothing to do with the camera, but 3.2 MP ain't so bad anyway.

Nice little hands on video here with some more live pics. After the W980i video there are more the new C series phones and other phones.

The design of the W980i is a bit different, I'm quite impressed with this clamshell.

I hope they incorporate some cool "premium" flash themes, as this is a Walkman flasgship and it's a A200 phone.  |
