I would definately accept P910 solution,
but true - P990 has it right.

But don't you guys find that you lose an element of the flexibility in the form factor, that used to be one of the major selling points in the p sieries?
Also I find the underside of the flip wasted space on the 990, so if not a keyboard what would you want there instead?

@AD, good point about wasted space under the flip. Honestly, I can't think of a logical use for that area at the moment.
However, I haven't changed my opinion that using the keyboard on a P990 is ergonomically better than that on a P910.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

I did mention the area under the flip could be utilized for something in future models such as, say a mirror for the ladies, which is kinda useable for urban metrosexuals as well although I do not fall under this category. But that's just one possibility, and I'm sure there are numerous other kinds of solutions which I'm hoping SE would surprise me with as I've mentioned countless times now

I am thinking more along the lines of a film screen or OLED that could display status info (time, date, memory, battery etc...)

A loud kickass stereo speaker would definitely be a deal clincher for me if it unfolds with the flip, a mini boom box if you will. Imagine that! It could very well be on the way to being a kickass camera phone too cramming imaging, audio and smartphone supremacy, all into a relatively small device. Like I said, just one kickass all in one device will greatly boost their brand only if they look at the broader perspective rather than worrying about not being able to sell their Walkman and Cybershot products

What about another d-pad +/- a seccond numeric keypad to add to the versatility of input/control for games etc.? Or maybe a set of asignable softkeys that could be whatever the user wanted them to be
@mode, I totally agree with the idea of a flagship phone being a collection of of the best features from the specialised ranges, like it was with the p800.

Fellow flip fans, point your cursors to this link

To download touchcalc, a freeware calculator app that supports FC! Works flawlessly and is great to use in FO due to the large buttons specially designed for thumb pressing
