That's odd. You haven't given one yet. You simply said you could do similar things with your phone. How is that giving an example of why another phone is a loser?

it seems the biggest criticism comes from the hype surrounding the phone and the fact that it does nt live up to the hype of the flash marketing.
well news flash nothing lives up to the marketing if companys told the total truth you d never buy there product.
can you imagine the se ad for the k850 "the camera and flash wont fire in sync so your pics will all be black" " this phone will be usable in two to the three firmware updates"
or perhaps nokias "our batterys might explode and leave a hole in your body"

apple are new to making phones they have to make an impression or they wont get a foothold in the market. so they over market the phone and stretch the truth just like all the other phone makes do

the iPhone is not losing in the Middle East.

First of all it's NOT RELEASED officially.

It'll be released in Feb.

Second of all, most stores have sold out and if they didn't sell out it's because they cost 400 pounds!

@Vegetaleb:

iPhone will surely be a big looser to Japan as well

in philippines iPhone's hit becomes what is not i expect it to be. few people uses iPhone here because of the terrible characteristics it lacks instead they rather buy iPod touch which is a safer choice as the one doesn't make issues in updating the firmware unlike the former(which is currently a hacked one )

iPhone was saved by it's cool unique UI and name but has been trashed down by it's number of flaws and incapabilities

Waw 5 pages already!
I was playing with my new N95 for 3 days I love it but I don't know why I will return to SE!
As for the iphone in EMEA it has been released for 1 month with official warranty but it's at 650$ and without warranty at 570$,BUT BELEIVE OR NOT I have seen already 4 iphones used for sale in shops because even the very few owners had lot of freezing problems and can't just put them in their pockets!!!
In comparison people begin to sell their N95 to buy the 8GB version or the N82 means at least 7 months after it was released while iphone lasted 1 month...

what do you mean it's official released in the Middle East.

My best friend owns the dealership of Apple here in Qatar and I'm telling you it's NOT OFFICIALLY RELEASED until Feb.

Some Apple stores sell them, but they're imports not OFFICIAL!

Dude Apple Midlle East is for a Lebanese company and that's why it's so expensive(Lebanese have to win at least 50% of price on sales it's a sickness since ages) and here in Lebanon Apple is selling it with it's own Apple Mea warranty...

People defending the I phone in this thread are just funny brainwashed clowns that believe all of the bullshit hype spewed out of steve jobs backside.

I'll sum up quite simply why the I phone fails:

Nokia N95 on t mobile -

Free on Ģ30pm with 900 minutes or 1800 texts.

I phone -

Ģ270 on Ģ35pm with 200 minutes and 200 texts.

N95 -

5 mpix camera
GPS
Hsdpa
MMS
Vga video recording

I phone -

A load of shit.

Im sure that those of you that bought an I phone are completely satisfied with throwing your money down the drain when you could get a free N95 or k850i or LG viewty on t mobile.

A more correct name should be: "iPod with phone". Any true mobile telephone user can see immediately that the iPhone is basically 3 years old. The tech was there long before Apple decided to put a nice UI on a 3 year old phone. It does have great integration features but the phone is hardly groundbreaking. The threaded SMS feature has been around as a Symbian add on for quite a bit as well. I am sure Nokia techs have a few iPhones in house and are pulling the UI and features apart and in a few months, they will have something to give Apple a run for its money.

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

Dude Lebanon does not RUN Apple in the whole of the middle east.

Each country has it's own Franchise owner and licensed distributer.

If Lebanon has it and is selling it (especially at a super expensive price) it means the store is making extra profit which shouldn't.

FOR EXAMPLE, Apple bahrain were selling the iPhone for 600 pounds and with a 3 month warranty. Apple USA discovered and the director was FIRED.

It will be released in Asia and the Middle East OFFICIALLY in February!

Why would I lie?!

You can thrash the iphone as much as you want but the truth is no other mobile UI can hold a candle against the iPhoneīs UI. Itīs not the features that make the iphone special but the way they work and how they were put together. The iphone is not just an ipod or just a phone, its an advanced mobile computing platform with great software running on advanced hardware (you were all happy because NOW the n95 achieved 90mb of free ram when the iphone has over 100mb running on a ~650mhz chip for months). But again, the hardware is also not relevant in the iphone but the UI and the apps. Like it or not, the iphone changed things. If the N95(or any other nokia or se phone) is so superior why wasnt it chosen to be gadget AND invention of the year by the TIME magazine? Do you believe all specialized journalists are stupid or not as smart as you? People donīt have to like the iphone or think itīs so great and shit but to called it a ībadī or īinferiorī phone is to remain inside a box only seeing the same designs and concepts weīve been getting from se and nokia for years that have become predictable and boring imo. I donīt buy a phone that looks the same as one released last year but that has a couple of extra functions and more pixels so itīs īso betterī, and the year after that iīll buy another phone just because it has a new feature and even more pixels. You thrash iphone users for not seeing clearly but you are the one that canīt see past what nokia and se have been throwing down your mouth for so long.

A great UI and mobile computing device let down by:

EDGE - why bother using a phone to surf the web and watch youtube on edge when you can get HSDPA now?

No MMS - I cant send 5 text messages or a picture for the price of 2 SMS? Outrage.

Non expandable memory. Ok so I fill up my 8 gig and then what can I do? Oh I Know, I can buy another i phone... Not. (Getting an 8 gig M2 for Xmas, if I need more space I can get another)

2MP camera / no video capture No comment on this one. Just no comment.

Everyone complains that the K850i is poorly specified for its price, no GPS, only QVGA video capture and that its not 16 million colours are the biggest let downs for most people. But the I phone has so many more disappointments that it is pretty much just a ridiculous joke at the price we are expected to pay for one. Make it the same price and same tariffs as an N95 and make it available on more networks and it might be acceptable. But right now the only people that are interested in it are die hard apple fans, or rich, rich people that just want a flashy toy.
