That's only if you bought it on T-Mobile in Germany. They're not going to unlock your UK O2 iPhone are they. Jeez, some people.
You are correct, Jeez some people. People like you that do not know what they are talking about. Hint: Abraham Lincoln said: "It is better to be thought a fool or idiot than to open your mouth and prove it." Guess which one you are.
T-Mobile will unlock an iPhone from the US, or O2, or their own network. They charge 60 Euro for the service. Next time before you speak pick up a telephone and make a call like I did.
I would say you have been properly owned.

It helps to speak German. I speak German. You need to call T-Mobile kundendienst (customer service) and speak to them. Many to most do not speak english.
So there is no "word for word" unless someone here is willing to write it all out for you.

This is what you do. Call them and say you are an out of country customer. Ask for someone that speaks English. They might have someone. I just called again and the customer service said they do it.
Good luck.
If you have a friend in Germany, maybe they can call for you.
By the way, the site www.t-mobile.de

I assume you are speaking to me. My phone is a US version but there is not such thing as "multi-version". They are all the same phones that are sold in different countries and locked to different operators.
Being that T-Mobile is officially selling locked and unlocked phones. So I just called them and asked if they could unlock my phone as I travel to Germany and other countries. They said yes. No problem.
