Then it's really weird... Did SE information service lied to me? And why SE removed information about EDGE from the specification list of K850i website??

Ohh... The conlusion: don't believe everything that people (SE information service) say...

Now I talked to SE information service again. They put me on hold and then they apologized. They confirmed that K850i supports EDGE!

I also suggested them to put this information back on the SE website under the section of K850i specifications.

What if EDGE will dissapear in the next FW update of the phone? I think they rushed K850i to the market before they had finnished scanning it for bugs ect. Like someone else said before, in the beginning SE said it had EDGE, so the FW probably had it at one point, but if K850i is not supposed to have it, I would not be suprised that is gone in the next update.

Aivar, thanx so much for clearing that up, and bringing the good news, it's really been confusing!

The K850i certainly does have EDGE and it's not going to disappear with any firmware update!

What is strange is the status bar. It shows G or E, plus the 3G icon. However, there's no HSDPA indication and it also seems odd to show EDGE when you're on 3G! The handset will try GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA in that order, so why show if there's GPRS or EDGE when you're on 3G?

Still, at least they've improved the 3G icon now. Not sure why it needed a new hardware platform to do it.

SE has been lazy... In older phone models you can see GPRS-indication when your phone uses 3G coverage.

But of course it would be better to have only GPRS, EDGE, 3G or 3,5G indication at the same time.

can someone please answer this question. Is the ear piece volume in the K850 louder than the K750 ear piece?

Earlier this year I went to the SE Store in London to see demo versions of the K850i and the W910i. At that time, I did rather like the look of both phones but having had the K800i, I don't think I could go for a phone without a xenon flash or a lower megapixel.

When I have seen the dummy models on display in a store recently, the green and blue strips on the side of the phone look very cheap. I didn't notice this on the working demo versions earlier in the year and wondered in the actual phones look like this cheap in real life?

Also, has anybody really struggled to text without making mistakes after several days of use? I can't help but feel I will always be pressing left and right when selecting the 2 or 5 keys. Does practice make perfect?

The package indicates that it supports 850, 900, 1800, 1900 and UMTS. So I think it really supports edge.
