And yes, you can change the cda and there is a long thread on how to do it for free and it is currently right next to this one and starts with 'Unbranding...'

And an easier method is here:

For this one u will have to buy a credit though.

This is not correct. Neither the free method or Kulankendi do work for the P1 at the moment (at least with my phone). The only working solution is Davinciteam - but this is quite expensive (EUR 20,-).

It's 20 euros for the davinci method...

But a question, could people with the WORLD1 and WORLD2 firmwares tell what languages they have? Bought the credits and installed the davinci tool but unfortunately it doesn't display the languages either for the different firmwares and I do want to maintain the dutch (NL) language so if anyone can share this information (or direct me to a place where I can find it...) that would be great

So has anyone seen any noticeable improvements as such?

For those who have the new firmware, can you try and see:

- if the phone reboots when scanning for WLAN.
- does it crash when writing along email or note?
- Can you run the Storage Wizard without crashing when Fring is installed?

cheers

I believe that this is an issue which has to be sorted out by the developer's of fring and not the other way around... [addsig]

I think this new P1 firmware is similar to P990 latest, hence, nothing really new, only minor bugs corrected

Ok, took the plunge and changed my P1i to WORLD1 (containing dutch language btw) using DaVinci. Now updating to latest version using SEUS... I'll keep ya posted.

It seems to only be when scanning and certain network types are around, unsure if its been completely narrowed down yet.

Try pasting a large body of text into the sms editor from a website, (try for 70+ sms's) then attempt to add some text. Usually kills it for me.

Just a questions, is there actually a difference between CDA areas? Is a world 1 really different to one from somewhere else? or i it just languages offered?
Will I loose out on updates or something?

thanks for the answers, very useful

I was asking that for the people who did have the issues.
I myself had the phone rebooting when trying to scan for WLAN happened randomly over the last three weeks. I have the Fring/Storage wizard incompatibility issue but it's not much of a bother really. And I haven't ran in the long email crash issue either.

I have the same question as DagMX. Is there actually a difference between CDA areas? Is a world 1 really different to one from somewhere else? I realised that I have United Kingdom region (even though I haven't bought from the UK) What does this mean? Is World Generic 1 better?

Just finished debranding a second P1i in as many nights to WorldWide Generic 1 with Davinciteam - easy peasy.

Now to run SEUS for the update.

World Generic 1 and 2 just seem to get updates first.

Still waiting to see whether its worth paying to upgrade now or wait until who know when.

Doesnt seem like any major changes thus far.
