I've already contacted the BBC and mobiletoday to spread the word as no-one should be allowed to get away with this.

Remember, to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and this type of action will only serve harden opinion on this type of internet terrorism. This doesn't look good for Apple Inc at all.

There is more than one review site out there and I'm sure they'll all be shocked and sickened at this outrageous behaviour.

@SMS - I was just going to post that letter in a dedicated thread, was just waiting for Laffen to say if he was OK with it being posted, but you beat me to it!

@Goldenface - good plan, spread the word as far as you can, show these people that people can't be pushed around and bullied into not posting something!

their is only 1 way to strike back.
the same virus some people made here when the first nokia symbians hit the market.
to them i ask to build the same type of virus to take out those iphones.
those american apple fans really think they can beat symbian phones from europe?

@Bart

Nah, na ha ha. Won't need to sink to their level.

HTC, Samsung, LG. Need I say more?

It doesn't matter how many sites they take down. The iPhone is flying in the face of what other companies have been striving for for years.

Don't tar them all with the same brush. Apple fans too will tell you of its shortcomings.

Like I have said before and you know as well as I that Euro, Asian, Korean and Japanese tech is YEARS ahead of the iPhone. Its good for the market because of its unorthodox approach to what people expect from a high-end device. Its this internet terrorism thats pissed people off.

I'm actually seething because of it. Phew!

I've read Eldar's iPhone article and it really is a bit too much. He concludes that it is not even a multimedia device, which is plain stupid or he just hates Apple for some reason. iPhone's more than fashion and there surely are pros worth mentioning in an objective review.

As an iPhone fan I'm glad he got into trouble.

Well, there is a place for the iphone but take 10 mins to peruse the hofo forums and you'll discover that even hardened Apple fans admit that Steve J talked it up a bit too much and it has it critics, like anything else.

I mean so what if Eldar, taking a Euro slant, took a dim view of it? I'd still say there was a place for it. AND Macs are superior , you have to hand it to 'em.

Like has been said, you take whats good for you, and no doubt the iPhone will suit some peoples needs but its these bullies? THESE BULLIES?

Yeah but there was nothing wrong with his reasoning? You can't argue that he didn't know what he was talking about. Can you?

What utter rot! Eldar gave his opinion of the iPhone, which included pointing out its flaws. If one doesn't agree with Eldar's assessment then fine, but it doesn't meant that Mobile-Review deserves to be attacked. Personally I think the iPhone is a piece of crap, but I respect the opinion of others people who think it's a good product. I certainly wouldn't be happy to see them suffer because their views are different to mine.

Ah Scotty, the review that Eldar gave was only 'the positioning' of the device and there was more to come.

Who is to say that Eldar wouldn't have praised it UI? And also the effect the device had on the established mobile phone market.

Even SE and Nokia admitted that it had given them something to think about. The UI is marvellous, you can't deny that. Ease of use is very important and if the iPhone brought something new to the table then they have to be applauded.

How many times have you heard people cursing moto's or samsungs UI before? These things matter. Don't forget that. What matters here is Eldar being gagged. Gagged?

@goldenface

This isn't the thread to discuss the iPhone so I shan't go into much detail, but suffice to say that whilst I appreciate that the iPhone has some nice features I think that, overall, it's a piece of crap. One should be allowed to give one's opinion on something without fear of reprisal. If someone didn't care for Eldar's opinion then they were perfectly free to create a thread on M-R and debate the issue. I agree with you, the issue is Eldar, and M-R, being gagged.

It's a shame to see this thread turning into a "iPhone bashing thread" - just like the iPhone thread on MobileReview!

There has been no confirmation that this is an action from Apple/iPhone fans!! The only indication is a message Eldar received on ICQ prior to the attack. That message was sent from one person, we don't know if there's a whole group of people behind that loner.
Therefor I think it's unfair to blame this on Apple/iPhone fans as many of these doesn't have the skills to perform such an action!

Eldar has said that he doesnt know that it was Iphone people only that they were one possibility. He has offered $1000 to anyone who provides real proof of who did it.
