mikael, yepz I'm one and the same v3il. nice to see you here too.
smartnet charges something like 300php to get it upgraded right? my phone sometimes resets itself.. really weird... and I also get those messages in clumps sometimes. I'm on the very first SW version r1b I think?
does a firmware upgrade cure these? I love my phone, but dammit I don't want it to break! |

I think firmware upgrades are free if you have a warrantied unit. I think the latest firmware version is R2B. I'm not sure if smartnet has it already. The firmware fixes a few bugs and has a few more features and different games i think

v3il, You can try to upgrade it, but i'm not sure if it will help. I'm using R2B right now and I'm not having that problem. Smartnet is charging P450 per upgrade if not warranty. |

Luwi, I believe arnoldc is referring to CSD/HSCSD. |

someone told me that CSD could do for pre-paid subscribers...(was that arnoldc?)
is it true..?
should i just call 211 or like ask globe to do whatever they have to... would they know that? or only a few technicians know that?

Correct, WAP had been made available to pre-paid users. However, it's GPRS that is not yet available.
WAP used to be on CSD, now you useit over GPRS too |

Read the thread and it seems that marami pa ring SW lower version T68s jan sa pinas Btw, im here in KSA Mine is already R2A and theres really big difference from the old one Dito kasi ndi gano mahirap magpa upgrade, just look for a KABAYAN sa service center(Ericsson or other) and thats it, no fee.

perfz (or anyone out there using R2B sw), are there significant differences between R2B and R1B? would you recommend the upgrade?
my t68 is running on R1B and it's working quite fine, although the lag can sometimes get irritating. does R2B cure this problem? thanks.

@luwi, @gowin, @ferrarista,
Before the GPRS days, pre-paid can access WAP via SMS. I don't think it was CSD, because Globe CSD aka, Mobile Office was only available for postpaid. Tapos they made it available for CSD, kasi si Smart naglabas nung ganoong feature. I maybe wrong though. Check your T68, it has WAP via SMS configuration. You can try it.
Last December, sabi ni Globe GPRS is for ALL. P300/month w/ Free 1MB, tapos 10 cents/kilobyte in excess. Ewan, kung anong nangyari.

Skrewt, I don't know the difference between R2B and R1B, coz i started using R2A. The difference between R2A and R2B, they add new games, animations and correct some bugs.
Ferrarista44, you can go to Smartnet if you find marcos highway is too far. They just at the back of Megamall. |

i still have R1B and have no plans on upgrading anytime soon. maybe i'll just upgrade when the MMS software comes out. i have no problems with my phone and i don't want to risk getting it f%^&ed up. besides i think the new features/games that comes with the latest software is not worth the hassle of scrambling all the way to Semicon/Smartnet just to have it upgraded.
anyway that's just my opinion. peace.
