met SEunlock yesterday, phone seemed cool and slightly faster, not hugely.

i had Swiss manager pro on my orangebranded unit until yesterday....so now that i have installed SMP on the unbranded handset, the difference is HUGE...

got between 15-20Mb ram available most of the time, and the now properly themed OS is great to use.

cant believe how bad the branded phones are, its simply inexcusable to do this to customers..

would those trying to point out the risks involved shut the f*** up now, we all know the risks....let people choose that for themselves...its getting a bit boring now...

good job SEunlock

chill guys - surely if you don trust the debranders dont do it - but from my experience they seem good and phone much improved

the only idea solution is for the networks to stop doing this in the first place :/

I have just put my P990i in the post to seunlock this is the last chance for ths phone if this makes it halfway usable then it will stay, if not it will be consigned to my old phone draw and an alternative will be sought.

I have a generic CDA /8 phone from Singapore that I would like to debrand to global CDA /1. What are the options for those of us on the other side of the planet to debrand other than mailing to the UK? Is there software or a cable that we can purchase rather than mailing our handset half way around the world? In addition to the shipping costs I need to be concern with custom/import duties upon having it mailed back as the custom officials in Indonesia are quite corrupt.

Surely there must be an alternative to physically sending the phone.

@wdeertz,
Have you tried asking your local SE Service Centre regarding changing the firmware for you? Heard that they might flash it for you to replace to English only instead of Chinese input enabled.

Our First Celebrity Testimonial is now ready:

Seunlock,

Phone arrived back 'tout suite' as promised. I cannot explain the difference the debranding has made. It's like getting a totally different phone. There are features that were not there before, the phone is quicker, brighter better.
I kid you not when I say that debranding should be MANDATORY.

Can't recommend SEunlock.co.uk enough.

I got my p990i back from the guys at SEunlock.co.uk this morning and just want to say what a professional outfit these guys are, I was kept fully informed throughout and my phone was there for one day not a minute longer and came back fully insured and very well packed thank you very much guys I really cannot praise you highly enough.

Since debranding the phone seems faster but I have only had it for two hours! I had one nasty moment when I restored my last backup though, it put back all the non configurable Vodafone accounts but a quick master reset sorted that! So iam now justgoing to reinstall what is needed manualy and save a new clean backup.

Thank you SEunlock I can now evaluate this device properly! Great Job Well Done

My P990i is with SEunlock as we speak.

I read the testimonials here and on their site and decided to go with it. Didn't see the discount for members of Estato until now though - hey ho.

I'll let you know how it goes - sounds like they are very busy.

NEWS!!!

As Of Now - 17:34 15/02/07

ALL SERVICES SUSPENDED!!

We will not be taking in any new orders until further notice. We are undergoing a maintenance period, in which we must replenish our stock of credits for some services, and we are trying to work through the amount of work we have here waiting to be done.

We apologise for ANY INCONVENIENCE, and we will look to be offering the services again VERY SOON.

We will keep you up to date as to how things are going and when we can recommence trading. This will hopefully be as short a down period as possible.
