ive always hated the ipod for the fact it doesnt let you do much with the music...
but every year apple redefines whatever it touches leaving the competition miles behind
this is an amazing phone, miles ahead.......sony must be going back to the drawing board after this!!!
this will change the mobile phone market bigtime! |

I just wanted to reiterate that this device is running Mac OS X operating system!! This is just gonna kill every other smartphone out there with their compromised-for-portabilty operating systems. Full blown Windows XP/Vista on a smartphone would be very desirable - OS X absolutely kills any Windows operating system. Not sure if you will be able to freely install existing Mac applications(??), but i'm sure porting will be easy.
Plus little or no fear of viruses/spyware and knowing apple this device will sync seamlessly with your PC (or your soon to own Macintosh?).
Looks wise - really like it, glad its not white like the ipod.
I've read rumours of apple testing a screen that doesnt leave fingerprints (easily) and also that they had done a deal with Cisco regarding co-using the name iPhone. |

Apple make their own hardware but use parts inside from other manufacturers. |

Well if you'd watched (or followed along with the Keynote here) the features and specs are just downright AMAZING! This is truly a revolutionary product.
It also appears to be very resistant to fingerprints for those wondering. I also believe it was mentioned that you CAN run full apps on the operating system (although there has got to be some downside, I couldn't imagine installing Final Cut Pro on it... but I'll try!). It will be very interesting to see when this starts shipping in June. I'll buy an 8gig one for sure.
The really cool thing is the apps that will be developed for this. It AUTO-Switches from cell to Wi-Fi so I'm betting a new Skype or VOIP app will be out soon to work on this so when you're sitting at home (or near a Wi-Fi network) it doesn't run up your airtime. |
