I deleted all the games and cleared out Opera (inc. private data) and managed 16.5mb of free RAM on boot (I don't use the BB client or ActiceSync).

I'm averaging a day and a half uptime. Is there anything more I can do?
I'm running the latest firmware and SMpro as it is.

P990 up for 3.5 days and still has 10.3MB of RAM! Found if you use Tube 2 by Visual IT it seems to get back some lost RAM

Sorry about the late answer:
You need a program that can see the system-apps that are running on the phone. Like Swiss manager.. Then you can exit the security-app. I read in some thread here that the security app is used if you have phone-lock active on the phone... that is if you have the phone to ask for password after a time of inactivity. Then you need it... but otherwise you don't.. I think.

This is actually quite sad really, why do you P990 owners put up with this.... the P990i was supposed to be an improvement on the P910i but the reliability sucks. P.S. my P910i is now on 148 days 6 hours, and it's that low cause the wife switched it off by mistake one night lol |

How to check the uptime on the P990i without Swiss Manager ? Do you guys use a stopwatch ? lol
Plz show me how.

In SM click on the System tab. Uptime is the second field, below the IMEI.

I don't have the Swiss Manager. Isn't it possible to check it via control panel or task manager ? |

Yes, it is true that P990 should be restarted every second or third day (if one need multitasking). It is also true that P910 can handle so many more application at the same time without closing but believe me that same P910, which I owned and was proud of once upon a time, is a real toy comparing with P990. It's simply not comparable, two totaly different phones (without any offence to 910 which I steal love and respect).

Koto, I totally agree, and I would love to have one, but they need to fix multitasking and stability first. Those are the 2 reasons I have not parted with the P910 yet!
