Swiss Manager 1.10 is released!

If you have an M600, now you can request the automatic cleaning up of all running tasks, just like P990 owners can do it by closing the flip. In addition, you can manually exclude any program from participating in this global memory maximizing process. Now you can have your phone always in top condition!

Major changes in 1.10 are:
- New: Automatic cleanup after idle time.
- New: Individual tasks can be excluded from the End all tasks command.
- New: Aggressive memory reclaim option.
- Fixed: File navigation works on phones with non-English language.
- Fixed: Camera app not closed when it is started up in flip closed mode.
- Fixed: Opera Mini is closed by the End all tasks command.

Enjoy!

If you set that option then SwissMgr uses another method for releasing memory, which is likely to give you more free RAM (the normal method is practically useless on UIQ3), but there is a "side-effect": the built-in Task Manager application will "forget" its Recent list.

@Lisa
Thanks for explaination.
What is the difference between "Close" and "Kill" the app?
Is there any way to autostart SwissManager at phone startup?

Close requests the application in question to perform its normal shutdown procedure and then exit normally. Kill is more forceful, giving less chance for an application to clean up itself and save anything it wants. Normally always use Close only. Killing is mainly for "runaway" programs that are impossible to get rid of otherwise.

That feature will be included with the Pro version (beta test next week, release ASAP afterwards).

When you tap on that button, the selected application will be excluded from the End all tasks command, whether it is executed manually or automatically. This means you can have automatic cleanup activated but avoid closing those apps that you want always running. The button itself is a toggle, so you can mark/unmark the selected task. When marked for exclusion, a '#' sign is present after the task's name on the list. So, the feature is just like the "snapshot" in SMan UIQ2, but you have manual control and visibility.

Uhm nothing I see directly. I did hear story what worries me. The P990i is far from finished. We do know that but I heard there are major issues deep inside the device and software that need to be addressed first. All the issues we address are low prio now, because they need to sort out those major software and UIQ issues first.

A nice thing is the following. Make a backup and then restore your phone! You will loose of Symbian certificates and you need to install all your 3rd party software over again. Those problems will be handled first is my opinion.

Lisa

version 1.1 of Swiss Manager is very very good. You (your company!) may have made the P990 now usable for people that are having RAM issues. SE should be really greatful to you!
