I'm not 100% sure but I do believe that the joystick problem has nothing to do with dust. I opened up my W800i unpluged the keyboard so all of it came off and then you can just pull out the joystick and that is where the problem reveals itself. When you have pulled of the joystick you will see a spungy material is stuck underneath the joystick... The problem with this is that after a while using it the "spunge" will stay in a pressed in state so you might say it has lot some thickness thus causing the joystick problem. Some solved it by applying something above the spungy material to make it thicker and thus making the joystick respond again.
I was having problems with the joystick I opened it up and surprise surprise afterwards it worked nicely again. I've all read this on an other forum but can't remeber which one though, I found it through google... I'm not saying this is THE solution but I guess it really makes sense...

Right, you can leave the front case on, ...
If you look at your phone, and the joystick, you can see a tiny gap between the case and the joystick carnt you. Wedge a tiny flatblade screwdriver in thurr, 4-5mm in...
Once its in, lift the screwdriver up, this will make the case move up a little, as the does the joystick, repeat this to all four parts...
Top, bottom, left, right,,,,, trying your best not to scratch the main joystick...
Once done, opush down on the joystick, and it shud click back into place, and try using the joystick again, should feel better, and more free...
This way youve basically unpopped the joystick of its spot, and then put it back!
Its safe, and does work @:) |

I did that last night lol! But I munted my joystick (clipped off a bit of the edge with the screwdriver I was prying it up with... lol...) while prying up the cover... Joystick works perfect again. Just cosmetically, it's a bit munted
Gonna try buy a new joystick. Kinda hard cuz no one sells silver keypads/joysticks...

One of the reasons i had enough of k8 was the joy, really uncomforteable and crap quality imo the k610 pad is far better

I agree 100% with BobaFett. I had T68i whose joystick did not give a big trouble within its useful life but it was not comfortable nor predictable (sometimes going to wrong direction). My wife has K610i with joypad - comfortable and rarely miss the target. Only one drawback this phone has is dimly illuminated keypad which is improved a little bit after service.
I have some problem with joypad of Z600i and Z800i - sometimes they stuck. Also the keypad of Z800 does not response that well, sometimes requiring 2-3 press for one number.
