Ok solved my problem. Just installed BB Connect ver 3.5 and it's good to go!
BB Connect version 3.35 works?
Could you please confirm that your P990i Firmware version is:
Phone: R9F011
ORG: R5A17
CDA: R5A13
I already tried a 3.35 on Cingular but it did not work.
So far have also tried 3.37 as well as 3.45 on that firmware.
No luck.
Appreciate your confirming your Firmware versions.
Thanks!

Thanks for confirming.
And you did say it is 3.5?
Or is it the 3.35?
Just checking, as from all that I've found anywhere
on forums is 3.45 as latest.

I need some help here. Quite new with this Blackberry connect. I am trying to use it with my corporate BES server. And for some reason I can not connect my phone to my PC. Hence the status box instead of showing connected, it showed disconnected. Spoke to my IT guy, he said he added my name to the BES server already so i definitely is allowed to connect. I have a couple question here 1. Whether I need to subscribe any pushmail service at my telephone provide or not. Spoke to the provider he said, not necessary as I am alraedy subscibed for a GPRS. That sounds weird, can anyone confirm? 2. I look at the connection manager in P990 phone at the Blackberry, saw the username is 'rim', with an unidentified password. Not so sure if I need to change that to some other thing. Ok. Let's settle these for now. I am wondering if anyone can help me here. Thanks in advance. |

Chaiyarat, you will need to have the Blackberry APN added to your service provider account as it is this which allows your phone to speak to your BES.

Thanks Artesea for your quick response. I am wondering what the APN stands for. I'll talk to my provider again. Thanks.

APN = Access Point Name
Your service provider should know what it is.

Basically, you will need a separate DATA plan.
This is different than the GPRS, even though data flows through GPRS, it's not the same data.
Go figure. |
