There's a big event next Thursday, but I haven't been told what it is, exactly when it is, where it is.. or why it is. All is not, necessarily, lost!

I doubt we'll be getting much more than what we've already got. After SE fired those other employees for leaking models, I don't expect any spy shots anymore. Even the leak of the product range and the K800 earlier this year was pretty bad for SE. And to think that SE had to annouce the P990 far too prematurely just because some spy shots were released on the internet.

Regarding the P990, wasn't production of the P910i halted some time ago, which must mean the way was being paved for the P990i, which is still not due till next month.
So, I doubt the leaked spy pictures made much difference really. |

Personally I'd like to see a better phone in the :WM: lineup (sorry if the walkman symbol didnt show up) but in the form of a slider.
Whomever designed teh W850i & the last set of flip-phones should be shot. The only reason why anyone buys them - like myself - is because its offered at such a discount with the provider. If my provider even offered the W810i or the K750 I'd be on it like a fat boy on cake.
I totally agree that the evolving K series lineup should have the high resolution video recording and auto focus and soon expected to have optical zoom minimal 3X to compete with the N90 & N93 & Sharp's lineup.
Remember competition is healthy if we (SE) can keep up but on the camera front the K800/K790 results are a little disappointing. Hopefully a firmware update will vastly improve results.

What's wrong with the design of the latest phones? I can understand if you're talking 'bout the W300, but the W850 and W710 seem pretty good to me.
Or are you refering to the loss of autofocus? That, at least in my eyes, is the worst thing about them. Otherwise they're pretty nice.

The design and plastic is not so fascinating. Nokia uses far better materials what's a pleasure to touch. The W850 looks horrible but the value packed in it is a kind of beauty. For me the design and materials are really so important. However I cannot go on without the comfort of menu system. |

The event, by the way, was a Christina Aguilera concert in Camden.. I was there for only 30 minutes because it was about a million degrees in the place!
No new phone launch!

So we can reasonably assume there aren't any new models on the distant horizon. Like many folks, I'd like to see a proper replacement for the S700.

I'm guessing, whenever they annonce the phone, that the Cybershot slider will become the 'new' S700. Still anxious...
