K800/790 vs N73: For the first time I'm considering a Nokia! |

I agree, I'm gonna miss the LED light on the K750 - It has been VERY handy to me as a flash light in dark areas. I too wish that they could have retained the LED, maybe they'll make it an add-on just like they did on the T6xx series... |

from t610 to k750 i love my k750i it is a really brilliant phone but next year for xmas i was gonna get k800i but it is same as k750i but with a better camera and 3g so im gonna get n73 but i will always keep my k750i and be faithfull to sony ericsson.
k800i vs n73 = n73 in my case.
camera will be better in k800i than in n73 but my k750i was good camera for me it takes clear detailed pics and i will never sell my k750i.
i hate k800i desighn its ugly compared to k750i.
goodbye sony ericsson with your walkman phones and cyber shot camera phones im moving to nokia nseries , but ill prob get a sony ericsson or samsung after my nokia n73. |

The k800 being ugly is your opinion and you are entitled to it, but I'm curious - have you ever used a Nokia? To me the UI makes me want to chew my arm off, so I'll probably Never have a Nokia phone. I actually think that the K800 is a very stylish phone with lots of good features and as far as your comment about it being a K750, I've already listed the number of upgrades SE has introduced in it and when put together, they add up to a totally NEW phone with LOTS of new features. You are so happy with the camera quality of your K750, wait to you start seeing the pics of the K800, I'm positive you'll be stunned. I take LOTS of pics with my K750 and one of the main reason I got it is to take quick pics (something I can't do with my Nikon D70), but I have to say, focusing and lighting are a bit slow. To compensate for poor lighting I enable the night mode which turns down the shutter speed instead of cranking up the ISO (which causes LOTS of noise). From everything I've seen of the K800 it'll be about as close to a True Point-and-Shoot camera as anything can get.
In the mean time, enjoy your N73 when you get it, I know I will enjoy my K790a |

What about N73's smartphone capabilities? I mean applications and games, isn't that a pro for the phone? |

If your referring to the OS symbian UI system. If its so bad they why are SE using it in the w950?
It cant be that bad if SE themselves want to use it. |

Regardless the underlying feature set & security protocols are virtually the same. Remember the UI is how to navigate, execute core system calls, and model specific feature sets, but the CORE of the OS is the same.
On SE's site they have a specific link to converting Nokia's S60 apps over to UIQ3! Search for it, very hard & you'll find it and you'll understand that the Core OS is of great importance.
However, the UIQ ui is very different to S60 ui.
Motorola has many models that use UIQ2, not sure if they'll continue since their new holy grail is Linux+Java combined. Still horrible, and in its infancy. |

Well, first of all, I'm not using a P series SE Phone so I have nothing to worry about. Second, when I talk about UI, I mean exactly that - User Interface. The one on SE makes sense to me, it's easy to use and fundamentally has not changed since the T68. I like that about it. As far as the N73 being a smartphone, if you are after that feature set then go for the N73. I have been using an Audiovox SMT5600 which is also a smart phone (WinMobile 2003) but I still find the functionality of it to be lacking when compared to my SE phone. Only major plus it has is that I can use GoodLink to get my corporate Exchange mail. |

Totally different to what and in what way ? Looks pretty much same as most other S60 phones to me, but with a better camera.

I was def going to buy the K800i but then the new nokia N73 is coming out, first of all it has Quad band which suits me as a go to the usa and coverage is rubbish there in some parts and thats because 850mhz is used in some parts more than 1900mhz.
But now i may get the N80. Thats got Quad band and Dual WCDMA, For full world coverage. mmm
wifi, 3mb (Ok not auto focus) but hey i could live with out that |
