Esato is appealing as is! Look at www.se-nse-net - that's what is not as appealing as it could be! I get dizzy looking at the confusing structure there! Esato is smooth, soft and appealing - as is!

a)se-nse has grown faster than esato did on launch, and the logo could quite easily win an award 
b)you arent speaking for the majority mate. you and others are basically middle aged men who like the site for the content. younger, newer, youth, that are going to be the men and women off tomorow like my mates get here when i show them and think er how boring. i dont mind this site because i didnt notice the design when i came but others do.
not all of esato loves it
and if you want to criticise my designing then do it via pm thanks

@van might be its grey, might be its old fashioned, BUT the inside and the knowledge, the community and the individuality of the members, the spirit and the feeling to belong somewhere etc for me thats what counts. all this things cannot and wont be better/comforteable/more welcome cos of a bit more colour and another logo imo

microsoft might be amazing but without the advertising the design its not going to get far is it ... a corporate identity propells any business or organisation into the limelight

if a newbie doesnt wanna visit esato, only cos of its design, then we dont loose anything imo
guess the most ppl comes here to read/share/support/help etc, if anybody miss the "groovy-fancy" style, there is mtv to watch...

thats just a stupid approach to take imho.
you need to be attracted to a website, no matter what. if esato was just lines of text it wouldnt be appealing as it is now. in the same why if the design was better, more functional (its hard to read things for example) more people may get attracted and who knows, they could be of value.
it might make se notice us more aswell, se-nse has been noticed and i doubt it would have been if we were just boring, not saying esato is but it does need a revamp

this thread is a bit of fun where im posting up, and others are too, some esato logo designs that we hope laffen will take notice of.
no matter what anyone says, this design has been around for a long time.

@van why would be a "younger" design make esato more as it is? its a highly respected site, very good known one at ///, se and many other brands. what advantage would bring esato a change? i like it as it is, its simple and maybe older design as other sites, BUT thats the reason i come here.

right, listen to me.
you have a brand. you want to market your brand, you use word of mouth, advertising, literature, and design. if your design is crap, it isnt as popular.
Esato could be much bigger but it isnt. So all i am saying is laffen continues being technically great but lets someone do some great designing. But he wont, because hes like that. If he wants esato to be noticed, then he needs to change.
and also, i can assure you se have noticed se-nse more than you might think and partly because its such a radical and new and memorable design.
youre all living in th past guys. its like not wanting to chuck away something old and dusty that you think is sentimental when really its best to let go. let go! its a forum!

its a very interesting thread. no need to compare here any site with esato, it would be off topic imo i get your point, but the final decision is up to laffen. if he likes it this way and dont want to make any changes, doesnt matter. BUT he was and is open to every suggestions.

if HE likes it? he has to remember this is a community he needs to do things for the community.
sure there are things on se-nse i dont like, or on mico design i dont like but i have to do it to make people happy.
esato could be just amazing. it could wow you at first site, and then you could enter in and see the fantastic community.
or you can think, hmm this looks boring and then you might not get attracted in.
basically, youre saying there is no point in design, which isnt really true now is it

i would come here if it would be black and white. but it would be relly interesting when laffen would make a kind of "online test" with certain ponits listed, logo, look, how comforteable it is etc and then make the result public.

Esato is amazing! Why do you spend so much time trying to change the look of it? Do you run into Mc'Donalds demanding that they change their logo as well just because you think Burger King's logo is cooler?
