I can't get it to work either.
It seems to connect but displays no data.

I've had success with a T68 (R2E006) & DRS-11 cable. After a few mins of fiddling, the problem seems to be COM FIFO. By disabling the 16550 UART & setting rate to 9600-115200, T68xMon 0.2 works as advertised. I do get the occasional: "Run-time Error 9, Subscript out of range" error. Of course I had to hack the default COM 10 to 1...
Here's a screenie:

Just as I posted, version 0.3 was released... It still requires the 16550 UART to be turned off. |

Yeah, sure. All the info is above, but to detail it:
Get properties on the COM port of choice from Device Manager. Set standard modulation/DTS, params, etc. BPS:9600-115200 (doesn't seem to matter), Data Bits: 8, Parity: None, Stop Bits: 1, Flow: Hardware (doesn't matter). Click on Advanced. Disable FIFO (really important). Both R/T buffers should be blank. Check your T68 modem settings to confirm parameters & test for connect. You'll find some Extra Settings under the advanced button, but these are scripted so there's no need to modify. Make sure you set your COM port correctly in T68xMon prior to clicking connect (or hack). I notice that the app is still a bit flakey (RTE 9), but haven't looked at it for more than 15mins. Pretty cool, though.
BTW it was tested on a highly modded WinME. I'll give it a go on WinXP tonight. |

Actually it managed to connect once but didn't display the info. I could only do the service tests. It has never connected again!

The same for me.
Connects, but no battery and other info.
Service tests are OK.
I connect via IrDA. Soft is R2E006 |

@ejasim
I'm not sure... basically if you can run the service test, you should be able to get the temperature readings.
Could you confirm youT68 software version?
& @392MHz
Try with No Flow control for you Com Port setting.
@stevem
Try and download v0.3 again, i've corrected the bug ('Run-time Error 9, Subscript out of range"). |

This is great software. When you get a chance could you setup an option to convert to fahrenheit? That would be awesome.
What is a good signal strength by the way. I am showing -85 dBm |

@geoffreyw
I've added fahrenheit scale.
As for Signal Strength, its between -53 dBm (good) to -100 dbm (nearly lost of signal). On average its about -60 to -80 dBm.
However, the signal strength do vary (between this range) depending on networks.
