Watching FOX NEWS (it's 01:38 am here, I should be in bed) and they reckon the Hurricane season begins for you Floridians 1st June.
Have you battened the hatches ECS, Reo?

Sweet!
I've just re-read through this thread, it sends a shiver down my spine recalling the images on FOX from last year.
My family had a small taste of this (in a way) a couple of weeks ago, when an earthquake off the coast of Tonga sparked a Tsunami warning for Fiji and New Zealand. After hearing from his daughter in Italy, our neighbour knocked on our door at 05:10am (I was already up) to warn us, as we live less than 1 km of low-lying land from the coast.
BBC world confirmed a Tsunami warning, and local radio stations had no word from local authorities, so with under an hour left, we evacuated to my parents house further inland. Fortunately no Tsunami was generated: it was a false alarm, but we were very concerned for our safety at the time.

It seems Huricane Ernesto has been Downgraded to a Tropical Storm but there is still a chance of severe flooding.
